BB is a tighty for 6 max.......but a good player..sb sucks very laggy and a station

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q, A.
2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, SB calls, BB 3-bets, Hero calls, SB calls.

Flop: (9 SB) K, J, K (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets, Hero calls, SB calls.

Turn: (6 BB) 2 (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB folds, BB calls.

River: (8 BB) 9 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB folds.

Final Pot: 9 BB

i was going to raise the turn here .....weird hand but a turn raise make a lot of good players fold better hands.....looks a lot like trip jacks....

Full ring you're more likely to get away with it. The 6 max crowd limps, plays too many hands takes them too far and gives too much action. Better players in that game play fewer hands and stop limping. Very different from the full ring crowd up into 5/10ish (fold too much, misses bets, doesn't play back enough, gives too many free cards, easy to read.)

I would check the river, but I probably should bet rivers like that more often.

i think betting is the only way i win this pot........hence the bet. I dont play a lot of 6 max.....i use this line in full ring a lot with success......but against decent players..........donks just call.

You sure can't check the turn through and advertise that you don't have a king, so a bet is goot. Fold to a c/r

if it was checked, sure, but if I was out of position, there's no way I'd bet ace high when a 9 falls, just helps too many hands

Mike caro's advice is don't bet marginal hands on the river, but since this guy is playing loose passive, it's probaby ok to
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

It's a funny spot where both better hands fold and you'll get some donktastic river calls as well.
