Didn't get this one from hand history, but was too good to pass up.

In Mid positon scgolfer is dealt (Ah 9h) everyone folds to scgolfer who raises to 4.
Everyone folds but big blind who is dealt (Kh 10h)
Flop is (8h 4h 2h)
BB checks
scgolfer checks
Turn is (7s)
BB checks
scgolfer checks
River is (Ad)
BB bets 4
scgolfer raises to 8
BB raises to 12
scgolfer raises to 16.

Summary:
Scgolfer collects $20 ace high flush

Only thing that sucked was I could have gotten a bunch more if I only knew. Dang it. lol

Overall I won about $140 over about 4 hrs of play. (I think like 300 hands)
Stats were something like this:
BB seen 75%
SB seen 44%
Other positions seen 18%
Hands won at showdown 15 of 28. (this stat is a little misleading in that if the hand ended with checking from any round it is included).
Other position is still a little loose but had a good read on table.
Holy crap I cant play against Yoda!!

Hand 1:
I'm an asshole for saying this, but you deserved that beat. You got the 3rd best hand in the game and you just call?? You had 3 great chances to make kcorb94 cold call 2 bets and blew all 3. Not to mention anyone hanging around with an Ace!

Hand 2:
Bad call pre-flop. Don't cold call with ATo out of position. Open raise with it late to middle position. Otherwise you'll put yourself in a position to burn a bunch of bets protecting top pair only to find out you've been outkicked. That being said, why didn't you raise the river?

Hand 3:
If you're going to play that crap, raise pre-flop to isolate the loose limper in front and get dead money from the blinds.

Hand 4:
I'd raise the flop and probably fold if he 3-bet's me or bets into me on the Turn.

Hey Fnord, I agree with almost everything you said. The first hand the guy was a calling station with anything, so I was going for the disguising the strength of my hand, he was calling and raising with a lot of stuff. I doubt he would have folded the suited connector. I should have left the table with his position on me, but was getting pretty good cards most of the night.

I am here to learn and get better. I have no trouble with you being an >>>hole. I am OK with construtive critism. I appreciate the time and thoughts you put into this site. Though I am pretty happy I got you with the ace high flush in the FTR showdown. HEHE Thanks again.

i can see it now - 30 years from now we'll all have retired to reno, and will be sitting around the $3/$6 table in some casino, nursing our martini's, and golfer will say (for the 500th time) "you guys remember that first FTR tourney? back in 2004 it was. i really kicked your asses..."

Good, now that that's established...

QQ is too weak of a hand to play deception games with. If Ace or a King flops or turns or rivers and you're going to be feeling sick. Even sicker with such a large field. Bring it hard and hope they think you got Aces. If he's calling anyway this is exactly the time to take his money. You must make him pay as many bets as possible while you have the best of it because bluffing him is nearly a lost cause.

The only time I play games with extracting overcalls and such is with AA/KK pre-flop (very situational) and with sets, straights, flushes or better. With a strong pair in a 3+ way post you generally want people out of your pot or paying out the ass to stay in. Check/raise, re-raise, cap, whatever you have to do.

On a related note, I played the worst hand I had in a couple days this morning. I'll post the hand history later tonight. 2.5 BB I'll never see again...

Isn't there an a trophy or something, It was history. Then later you could name it the "scgolfer trophy" All the big time sports do that. Everyone said that I had bragging rights! You will hear it at least until I am dethroned. I bet everyone is changing their request for the FTR Showdown @ High Noon to tommorow. hehehe
