Hero was a rock with 12/7/ stats and mp3 being a bit aggro 24/18.

How much am I saving/givin up.

Preflop: Hero is CO with 9, 9.
UTG raises, 3 folds, [color=#CC3333]MP3 3-bets, Hero folds..?

12/7 has a pretty good range of preflop raising hands, but with 99 you're at BEST on a coinflip with him. And thats only if he's raising AK preflop. If he's raising TT - AA, you're dominated. From a UTG raise from someone you've pegged as pretty tight, I think you can let 99 go. Add in someones threebet over the top, and this is an easy fold.

I fold this almost every time. Calling or capping 99 here is pissing chips
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately
