Preflop: i play the same. bad spot for the rest of the hand.
Flop: it's tempting to run a play, but i bet out here and take control of the hand. More often than not the calling stations are going to chase you down anyway. Remember the flopped Q high flush that i made at these same tables last nite?
Turn: Good. He flat calls so I'm tempted to put him on the flush draw or OESD here. If he holds a T i think he is raising.
River: Bad card for you. He's made his flush or if he is holding the 10, filled up. There are a bunch of hands here that beat you and the pot is small. Good laydown. (I probably pay him off, but I'm still a n00b and it would be nice to look him up for later. What kinda rags is he limping with?)

Checking the flop when you've hit the nut straight is always tempting to try to trap someone. However, I have been burned way to many times now trying this play because my nut straight after the flop simply doesn't seem to hold up to the river as often as it should. I would bet out and try to limit the field after the flop.
The check is not a bad play. I just have come to a point where I feel I need to bet out here to avoid being drawn out on. Although there was no flush draw yet so the check isn't a bad play by any means.

Bet the flop so you can set-up a 3-bet or turn c/r. Going for the c/r right away on really strong hands without a PFR isn't a good idea because if the button bets you either need to call to go for over-calls or face the field with 2 cold.

preflop, AJo in the BB? i might raise if the table was passive.
flop...bet out. you have no reason to protect your hand. you should only check raise to drive out weaker hands by charging them 2 cold (when you yourself have a marginal to good hand that is easily outdrawn). they will find find any reason to call this down, just a single pair on that board and they will call all the way.
turn...i might have tried to check raise the turn instead of betting out.
river...tough laydown..ah well small pot you are forgiven

C'mon I wanted advice for how to play it worse. I agree with most of the stuff you guys wrote though.

I was going to smooth call the flop, then raise the turn.

Wasn't in the mood and just started playing at this table so no reads. They were passive of course by default - it's a quarter game. I'm generally pretty careful with AJo. Raise in MP, LP especially if first in.
How about this line.
Call preflop, bet flop, bet turn, check river....then??? Or do you bet the river? This is assuming you get flat called the whole way, and not raised at any point.

If the river was blank, I would only check this hand if I intended to raise on the same round.
Against passive players you need to bet the river more often, as they will check behind with stronger hands. I lost 2 or 3 BB last night trying to c/r rivers where I caught up.
