I've been playing poker for 2 years. Last 4 months I starts playing alot more and overall I've Been doing well with my result. However, since last week of Dec. til now I ran into this problem and it really bother me. I don't know what to do until yesterday I found this site and I really Enjoy reading thie tips here which is very help ful.
I've been playing at Party poker the most, then poker room UB, stars, paradise and prima poker and pacific also. I have no problem with my bank roll which I have over $500 at 4 site right now.
Here is my problem since late dec. I start playing some tournament from $10 - $20 buy-in. for the whole week I made 6 final table but none was higher than 4th finish and overall the income from tournament still +$236 however, since that final table choke got me mad. Then I start quit playing tour and concentrate on my cash game again. It never the same since I comeback to my cash game in January. Up til now I only up $459 for the month which was mostly came from the bonus in last last 5days I have made from 5 site. My cash game for January only win 23 of 50 session. my showdown was 45%. I start playing ways to tigh. and when ever I'm down more than $100 I will start worry about losing more and look for excuse to quit for the session. On other hand, whenever, I'm up more than $200 then I'll start looking for some reason to stop with winning session. If Lost 1 -2 games then I'll start stop playing for the rest of the day. End up play all the 45mins to 1.30 hr session max for me. then I start worry about losing and have been hunt for bonus the last 5 days which I do earn $500. But I know the fact that I'll have no more bonus to earn and start face with my real life. Can Anyone please help me. Tell me what to do in my mind so I can start playing my game again.

Well, if youre worried about losing too much money on any given day, your problem is youre playing outside your comfort zone.

Even if you have enough money to be properly bankrolled for a given game (say, 300BB) if your head says, "losing $100 is too much in a day", then it doesn't matter. Drop down until youre comfortable.

The best thing for you to do is to drop down what stakes you're playing. If you're at $1/$2, play $0.50/$1 for a while until youre comfortable. It'll be good for your head AND your game when you arent playing with "scared money".

1) Poor BR Management

2) Bad thinking, money instead of bets

3) There are bad players on all sites it's a myth to think you can win at one site but not win at another.

I don't exactly know the problem. Not BR for sure. I bet alot on football and do it big all the time. Somehow I just lost confident in my game. then couples of bad session lost to river really hold me bad.... more and more happen then I start worry.
Like Yester day session 5 hand AA, AA, KK, KK, QQ
I only win 2 out of 5... Win average is $55.25 and lose average is $60
running in bad streak. I did look at every hand there just can't find any mistake. all 3 lost was on that river card... I do play aggressive with my big hand somehow still lost in head up

Seems like you need to thinken your skin up a bit. Your gonna take a lot of beats in LHE, but you are gonna get a lot of players calling in bad spots to make up for it. Im running worse then I have before and I'd be lying if I didnt say my confidence has dropped just a bit because of it. Just out of curiousity how many hands do you play a week?

from Oct to dec. I do play 6-8 hrs a day 1/2 table. then since the bad streak I hardly max session was 2hr then I start chicken off and run. Some of session only 30mins. I don't know why. After couple sof bad hand then I'll scare.
The past 5 days I play like 1000 hands/day mainly just to collect rake hand for bonus so it doesn't count.
But at 3/6 or 5/10 I just chicken of now I don't know
Overall I still win but just my mind..

What's your total BR?

I read that you have a less than $1000 br, and are trying to play 5/10...

no my BR is fine.
I do follow the rule by brough in $500 on 5/10
$300 on 3/6 and
$200 on 2/4.
But maybe you're right I was play 2 table sametime at 2/4 for a long time and de very well.
1 table at a time and do well
but maybe b/c of moving up to 5/10 that's what got me there..... I think it clear now.
I'll learn that poker tracker and move back down to 2/4 where I have the most comfort with... then slowly work my way back on

no total... in bb like 100bb @ 5/10 = $1000

also what is your party sn i wouldn't mind seeing you play sometime...

My whole BR is more that 4k right now.
But the problem is that I did have it in 6 site
I've been try to collect bonus $$$ in the past week
By the way SN at Party is Mike_ToFu

I did found a bunch of mistake today.
Thank everyone here for helping.
I decide to just start over from $2/4 game
that's where I do best
