The Party $25 game is a turkey shoot. The $50 game is soft. At the $100 level they're more careful about paying off.

whats the best hand u can be dealt in omaha hi lo - i played for the first time yesterday and was curious. Do u always try for the hi and settle for a decent shot at the low so u want like AAKK or both like AsAc2c3s or something like that.

Best starting hand for hi-lo is AA23 double suited
you want three lows in case one of them (A,2,3) hits the board.
In general you want to play hands that can scoop the pot

Statistically AA23 double suited and AAK2 double suited are very close in rank with AA23 DS having a slight edge. From my own playing experience I would much rather have AAK2 as I have seen it scrape many more pots and thats really what its all about. Its like having AKs vs. 22 in holdem. I know 22 have a very slight edge but I'd rather have AKs.

You but you have no back up with your low draw. a 2 or an A hits and you lose 1/2 of the pot, assuming there is a low.

Someone said it first, with PLO/8 you want hands that can win the whole pot, not just part of it.

My favorite hand involves A2suited. I win lots of money taking 3/4's the pot when someone else with A2 will just call my bets thinking he has half.

Still, I would prefer A234 or similar hands to AA/KK any day. Expectially in the low limit games, it is difficult to read and play the high pockets.
