Its going to be a long post so please bear with me. I had just started playing limit holdem (0.50-1$ in party poker) this last december and made just under 500$ in 1 month. That gave me a lot of confidence to go with my friend to a local Indian casino resort here in so. cali.

I played at a 2$-4$ limit holdem table for about 6 hours. lost 200$. The table was full of fish yet at the end, i ended up being the fish. I played only about 15-20 hands those 6 hours. Here is what happened.
I got my AA and KK cracked 2 times each. AK beat (while K was paired) 1 time.

Here is a summary of the hands. I cant rememeber all details as it was live.

after folding a lot of hands, I get KK. Raise, get reraised, someone else reraises, I cap it.
flop Q-Q-4
Someone bets, I raise, someone reraises, whole table calls.
turn a blank. River another Q. A raising war broke out. I raise, someone reraises, another guy caps.
Winning hand: Quad Queens (the guy was playing Q-7o).
Other people had: Queens full of Aces (pocket Aces), Queen full of tens (pocket tens), and me queens full of Kings (pocket kings)

just 2 hands later get KK again. I raise, someone else reraises, I reraise.
flop 10-J-5
he bets, I raise, he reraises, I cap.
same type of action on turn. I check the river, he checks.
He had a set of 10 (not trips, he was playing pocket 10).

about an hour or 2 later, got dealt AA.
I bet, someone raises, I reraise.
flop Q-Q-J
a raising war on the flop. I cap it.
turn blank, river blank. I am betting and raising on turn and river.
the guy who won the quad queens shows Q-5 suited again (trip queens).

Another guy was playing J-A.

I am at the big blind 5-9o.
flop - 5-6-7. check all around
turn - 8 - every one folds except one guy and me. I dont want to bet because i am waiting for him to bet the river and i can raise.
river - 9 (he checks, i bet, he raises, i call). he had 10-2

A few hands later I had A-Ko.
Raise preflop, everyone calls.
flop K-8-4
I bet, someone else raises, I reraise, he calls.
turn J. I bet he calls.
river 8. I bet, he raises, I call. he had Q-8o.

by this time I am on tilt. have only 22$ remaining from my 200$. I get AA.
I raise, whole table calls.
flop 6-10-Q. I bet, everyone calls.
turn 2. I bet, everyone calls.
river 9. I bet, everyone folds, one guy raises, I reraise, he caps, I call.
He shows me 7-8s.

I give up and leave the table.

I believe there is some hope for me in poker but i think I need some good spanking

. next day I play in partypoker and got my AA cracked 2 more times. I got spooked and cashed out all the money. even with the live casino loss, i still made 250$ in one month, my only month of playing real money poker. I have been playing play money for a year.
I dont think i am going to play for real money untill i fix my game.

I have read Lee Jones book, Sklansky and Gary carsons holdem books too. Any more books I need to read before I head for a live game again.

Please be very critical. I like criticism better than praises (praises dont teach you anything, criticism does. ) please feel free to post whatever is on your mind.

AA/KK are good hands, but a license to print money they're not.

TylerK: its just gambling if i want to worry about money i'll go to work lol

get small stakes hold'em by ed miller.
read theory of poker as well.

you're just experiencing swings. play more and it'll swing in your favour.
