I basically started out limit at 6-max. I figured any holes or leaks I had as a player would at least tend to be covered by the fact that every one else was just so much worse (which was true). I was able to learn a lot and still make a profit.

I'm getting into full ring limit now. I can tell right off the bat that the thousands and thousands of hands I played at 6-max will pay off huge here. The hardest thing to get used to is the more limited starting hand selection and just in general to respect raises from EP a good deal more than you would in 6-max.

And it's so weird, when you're playing against good people, to have bets actually be respected! Maybe it's just the kick-ass session I'm having at the moment at the 2/4 PS tables, but people actually respect your raises, unlike the massive amounts of crap that goes on at the 6max tables (people in the SB calling 3-bets with 8/5s (that's not terribly unusual).

There's certainly a greater amount of mistakes being made at the low-limit 6-max tables, but there's also far more variance (the 10 rivers in a row I posted about yesterday in the BadBeat section (that place is so good for venting and getting it out of your system! I don't mean to complain when I post there, it's just mainly for venting/de-tilting purposes) happened at 6-max where people just can't let anything go at the lower limits). Anyway.

Full table seems to be much more about maximizing value and equity for every single hand that you play than 6-max. 6-max teaches you how to defend against aggression and what to do it with.

Anyway, I think I'll probably be playing much more full table in the future..
If I had a hammer
I'd drop in the morning
I'd drop in the evening..
