I could have done that well too if I had AK twice and AA once.
I hit a slump when you came in. Before you showed up I had some good pots, and after you left I made some more $ before finally leaving.
Fnord may have banged, but I bombed.

I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.

Hand 1: I don't think you're getting pot-odds to be calling there, humph.

Why? Why not limp and see if you hit your set? (Not good enough implied odds?)
edit nevermind, it was raised PF

Ahh, the NL player thinks about flopping a set in limit
I went through the same thing.
Heres why I started laying down small pairs in situations like this.
In NL you can get paid BIG by flopping a set. TP/TK will call big and you can take entire stacks.
In limit your restricted by structured betting. Once you raise TPTK they will stop raising you, and chekc/call. You'll endup with a 10BB pot where as in NL you could make pots 30-40BB's.
About as simple as I cna put it.. I'm sure there is a more technical reason but that reason above is good enough for me

Some thoughts on pre-flop play/fold decisions with baby pocket pairs:
o Are you likely to pay only 1SB to see a flop. (they're great for blind defense.)
o How close to immediate odds are you getting for your set pre-flop? If it's 6+ to the flop, it's ok to pay 2-3SB.
o How likely are you to be paid off? The more likely your opponents are to bluff, overplay their hand or take weak hands to the river, the more baby poker pairs go up in value.
A lot of times it's close, but it's hard to make a big mistake playing them.
BTW: I'm at 0.07BB/hand for 22-66

What about re-raising on the button w/TT? (eg. it's raised, one caller, do you call or re-raise?)
(I ended up calling and then flopping a full house... was wondering if it would have been +ev to re-raise preflop (neither of the blinds played)).
My guess would be that it's not +ev with only 3 players, but would be with 5 or 6?

Very interesting. TT gains value in a 2-3 way pot where you're likely to hold up with just Tens (or hang around because you think you're good and spike a ten.) I might be just inclined to call here, but it's close
o A raise doesn't buy you the button because you already have it.
o However, a raise might buy you a free turn if you miss the flop
o With 2 other players committed to the flop, you're not getting this heads-up
o A raise likely will kick out the blinds.
o A raise sets up a cap by the initial raiser.
I guess it depends on the players. If the blinds are loose/bad, I'm more inclined to just play set here. If the initial raiser is likely to cap or super-rocky, I'm less inclined to raise and may even muck. Also, the cold caller is curious. I probably 3-bet here most of the time....
From the CO however, it's a clear raise or fold because I want the button.
