I figured him for the low straight (A4xx) based on his flop/turn play. Then the scare card comes and he fires off a big pot bet. What's my play?

Ultimate Bet Pot-Limit Omaha High, $1 BB (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

UTG+2 ($124.50)
MP1 ($128.55)
Hero ($106.05)
MP3 ($12.40)
CO ($47.85)
Button ($414.85)
SB ($33.65)
BB ($44.15)
UTG ($91.25)
UTG+1 ($191.40)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 4, 8, 6, A.
UTG calls $1, 2 folds, MP1 calls $1, Hero calls $1, 3 folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($5) 3, 2, 5 (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, MP1 bets $3, Hero calls $3, SB folds, BB folds, UTG folds.

Turn: ($11) 7 (2 players)
MP1 bets $6, Hero raises to $19, MP1 calls $13.

River: ($49) 7 (2 players)
MP1 bets $49, Hero...
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

I don't have a lot of experience with PLO, other than the ultra low stakes.. but it looks to me like he might've hit trips on the the flop.

He'd pretty much have to put you on the str8 with your re-raise on the turn, but maybe he was calling with his 10 outs for the boat.

In my limited experience, it seems like the reads on a particular player are crucial... how does he bet with the nuts or near nuts... how does he bet otherwise...

Just my $.02

I don't have too much PLO experience - is raising the flop bad here?

I think I would reraise the flop.

I think he had A4, but may have hit a boat with 7 2/3/5 on his other two cards by the river

I dont think a raise of the flop is that great of an idea. Rainbow flop with a lot of re-draw outs. I'd wait untill the turn.

Interesting. It ALMOST seems desperate, like maybe he has a little boat with the 2s or 3s and wants to rep the bigger boat, hoping you might lay down a different little boat.

The nuts is 77, and the 2nd nuts if 75, right? would he have called the flop bet with either of those? maybe, but if he calls the turn reraise with either of those, that would be a pretty bad chase , wouldn't it? The flop reraise might have chased him out, but hindsight is 20/20.

was he a chaser of that kind of hand? I think there is a good chance he had a boat, IF he is kind of bold/crazy/fearless about calling with that kind of draw. Or he might have been fairly certain that he had a straight that would be either 1 better or a split. It comes down to, what kind of a read did he have on you?

So what actually happened? I would have folded, but then again I would have folded on the turn reraise if I were him!

Yeah my turn raise gave him bad pot odds to chase a boat (if he in fact had a set). My bet was nearly full pot (would have been $23), since I didn't mind a call at all here with the nut straight and a 4-suit board.

I thought/think that there's a good chance he was just repping the boat, while pretty much knowing that I had a straight. I just wasn't willing to wager that much to see if he had it or not so I folded to wait for a better spot

I can't recall how long he had been at the table, but I play a pretty solid game, usually when I bet big I have the hand I'm repping (most people call anyways). I can't think that he had much of a read on me other than the fact that it looked like a 90%+ chance that I had either the A4 or 46 straight.
