I mean quantitativly:
In a full ring game, you would expect to see MINIMUM 15% flops (assuming you call big and half small blinds) - clearly someone seeing 50% of flops is loose - what is the border between tight, average, supertight?
Similarly - is there a way to measure aggression? Rate of raises/calls? Pre-flop raises/calls?

I am:
a) cheap
b) don't like learning new software
c) out of work
d) can program
So, 4 reasons to not pony up $200 for PT. I noticed that someone put up "Agression Ratings" from PT. How are they calculated?

The 1000 hand download is free and the cost to unlock(register) is $55.00

It pays for itself. If you can't afford $55, then you can't afford the 1/2 game and maybe not even the .5/1 game.

I am cheap too but read so many raving about PokerTracker that I bought it. Best 55.00 I have spent on poker so far. It takes just a little while to learn how to easily import hand histories from the different sites.
Good learning tool, and reviewing the hands and keeping track of your stats is almost as much fun as playing.

zen download the trial of poker tracker..
if your a good programer and want to do your own that should give you some ideas.
I'm a cheap bastard too, but then after I blew $55 in a single session i figured it would be good to get PT. Haven't regreted it.

Depends on the table. In a maniacal game, with bets constantly capped multi-way preflop, 15% might be too loose. OTTH, in a loose-passive game with 8 players seeing every flop, 30% might be too tight.
A couple mantras to live by:
- Play tight up front and loose in the back. I consider the button my 'fun' spot, where I'll play light hands like 24s in unraised pots. As I get closer to the blinds or the pot gets raised my starting hand requirements go way up.
- Don't get caught out of position with inferior cards. It can seem so tempting to see a flop out of the small blind with Q3s, but what happens when a Q comes on the flop? You bet out and get called or raised. What then? You'll lose a lot more money in situations like this than you'll make when your Q3s makes a small flush.
