I am always worried about that monster under the bed. How do i get rid of that mentality. I went to -100 bb in 2 weeks and finally grinded back up to (+) territory. everytime when there was a pair on board and i bet, someone smooth calls till river to raise me in the end. i suppose thats wrong attitude in poker.
Should i not slow down when an overcard shows up above my pocket JJ or pocket QQ but slow down if 2 overcards show up ?? is that a fair enough practice to adopt ?
what would be proper way to play middle pair in such circumstances when there is raising pre flop. also, i think i read somewhere that if there are 3 broadway cards showing (hand 2), top pair is in trouble. i am not even top pair ?

Hand 1:
He capped me preflop and raised me on flop. am i unreasonable to expect he has the king ?? i should have bet the river huh, when he checked behind me on turn ??

For the colors to work on this site you must change [color:#FFFFFF] to color=#FFFFFF of course leave the [] in there
oops forgot to comment on the hands:
Hand1: if he checks on the river this seems to be weakness unless he is trying to trap i almost always bet the river if he has checked the turn, if he raises me it's a pretty clear cut your bet but i think you can pay it off, for information more then anything at the least... maybe fold (depends on if you have reads)
Hand2:
pretty shitty flop here, and the turn became even worse,

In hand 2, you must bet that flop. You still might have the best hand and you gotta rep that Ace!

I miss read the hand first time I looked I thought they bet the damn flop hell, you need to be betting the flop and seeing where you are, then if they just call you might still have the best hand so a bet on the turn/river might be right IF there is no action indicating you're beat...

In hand 1 you have a pretty easy river bet. Villian almost always has JJ/TT here.
In hand 2, you must bet that flop. You still might have the best hand and you gotta rep that Ace!

Hand2:
As fnord said, bet that flop, it might let you see where you are. However, you checked it and SO DID EVERYONE ELSE. This leads me to believe they think you have it. Betting the turn was good, you HAVE to bet that river too. I'd bet you would have taken it down on the river.
Checking the flop makes it look like you were trying to trap. Betting the turn really cements this in my eyes. Not betting the river.. well.. I'm surprised the button didn't raise you. He should have, because you showed hella weak.

Question
hand 1, would u bet in turn also , seem that no need to slow down when see a k , especially you are out of position.
hand 2
bet in flop , but if get a raise back , then how to play? assume they has made hands or drawing?

Hand 1: Its highly unlikely he checks behind on the turn with Kx or AA. The 7d doesnt help him. Bet.
Hand 2: Although we dont like this flop all that much, you should bet.
