Phyl,

In 3/6, how much money did you make limping?

Set-up a PokerTracker filter where:
"Vol Put $ In Pot" set to "Limped w/ PC"
"Blind Status" set to "Not a blind"

What % of your total winnings is the net of the filtered hands?

You're playing more hands on a limp than I am, and I'm curious how well it's working for you.

For what it's worth, the net of these hands is less than 1% of my total profit and consists of 1.73% of all hands I've been dealt.

For extra credit, look over those hands and consider if you might have been better off raising or folding.

Anyone else wanna try this little experiment?

I make about .15 BB/hand limping through about 70,000 3/6 hands. Almost all of that comes from small pocket pairs, QJs, KJo, JTs, and JTo though. It looks like I wouldn't be better off raising with those hands, because I have actually made less money per hand with all of those when I raised. I definately would be better off limping with a few less hands though. ATo, J9s, and QTo have all been very bad for me even if I do only limp if in late position with a few callers already.

Looks like I don't limp that much more than you do, the filtered hands make up almost exactly 2% of my overall sample.

They make up less than 1% of my winnings.

However, sample size is a big issue here. I have only 7520 hands of 3/6 in my database (computer format = PT death) and only 145 after the filter.

I'm losing money in this sample with hands that are easily profitable like 55-88, ATo, KJs-KTs etc.

I think a very big sample would be needed for the results to really be accurate. But I am suprised by how little money I've made from limping.

What does 'Limped with PC' stand for?

I've just started looking through the hands and I've already seen a lot of hands limped that I should have raised.

Most are like this: 1 limper to me in the CO and I limp with KTo. I would raise that now.

Isolating limpers is a skill I only really learned once I started playing 5/10 and 10/20.

Edit: Finished looking through them I'd estimate about 15% of the limps should have been raises. Nearly all of these missed raises are for isolation/buying the button purposes like the one shown above.

I've also seen about 4-5 limps that really should have been folds, limping JTo too early and Kxs without enough limpers.
