A quick check for me is average number of pots won. If my normal rate is 9% in a full ring game, and for a 1000-hand session it's at 7%, that calculates to being 20 pots light. If the average pot is 6 big bets, and I'm only down 60 big bets for that 1000 hand session, I'll generally figure I'm losing less than I should, and therefore playing at least reasonably...

Do you all have any kind of quick benchmark you use?

Never really thought of checking that... but I like the idea. I'll have to keep an eye on that.

I usually just hope I'm running bad.

And look at my VPIP% and SD%. I figure if they are really low compaired to my average, I'm running pretty card dead. No real revalation there... I'm sure many do that that.
