im playing in pacific poker in one of the $5 10 person fixed limit games... im getting called every single bet when i have TPTK or 2 pair or even a set, and its by ppl who are chasing, and more often then not, 1 (out of the 4 that call) will get what they were chasing and screw me over? is there any way to prevent this or should i just do NL?
(PS: i always play NL, i didnt double check to make sure this tournament was NL)

On the very surface:
No limit is about protecting a good hand.
Limit is about profitable chasing.

You probably aren't doing too good a job protecting your hand. Limit is filled with a bunch of chasers and you just have to make them pay when you get your hand.[/quote]

If youre that discouraged about losing to suck outs... you probably shouldnt play Limit. It happens, but knowing that youre always playing when you have best of it or drawing to the best best of it (when its worth it) makes it tolerable.
Rilla is absolutely right. In limit theres no great way to protect your hand most of the time in limit poker, so you find your edge and exploit it.

I disagree, there are many ways to protect your hand from all positions. Check/raising from early position, raising in middle position, and having the ability to call in late position on the flop to raise the turn. Granted, you can't force the opponent to go all in, but the same players willing to cold-call a 3-bet on the turn for a flush draw are the same players willing to risk their entire stack on it. They don't know any better.
