Micros at Titan...tables a bit tighter than normal, been scooping a bunch of small pots.
Hero is Button with QJc
UTG calls, 2 folds, 3 calls, Hero raises, SB folds, BB folds, 4 calls
Flop: AhKc10h
UTG checks, MP1 checks, MP2 bets, 1 fold, CO raises, Hero calls, UTG calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls
Turn: 6c
UTG checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, CO checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO raises, Hero calls, UTG folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls
River: 3d
MP1 checks, MP2 checks, CO checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO folds
Alright, I will analyze my own play and then everyone can tear me apart.
Preflop: I've got 4-5 limpers and I pick up a hand like QJc which plays great multiway so I raise to build a large pot.
Flop: I practically jump out of my seat, as I dont believe anyone can put me on QJ and I am getting bet and raised into. I just smooth call here, want to do some damage on the turn.
Turn: Where did all the betting go? Oh well, I'll lead, they cannot resist calling into this pot. CO raises me, what would he check/raise here? I dunno but I smooth call hoping to get callers behind me and that he'll lead at the river.
River: Perfect card, I have the nuts and I believe I am the only one. Co doesn't bet into me and I just have to lead on the button. Two callers, but CO folds? What? mustve bricked a flush draw I guess, however, he must have had to baby hearts not to be able to call a pot worth around 22BBs.
Anyways, could I have made more? Right now I'm loving my smoothcall on this flop, however, if a scare cards hits I'm nut sure how I play it. The turn is where I cannot figure out if I should 3bet or not. If I 3bet the CO then I force the players behind me to coldcall 2BB each. By smooth calling I dont give away my hand and can induce a river bet by the CO.
One final question, if the CO leads at the river do I call or raise here, I am reading the river play section in SSHE right now and its suggested I just call here and hope for 2 overcalls behind me. Raising here could cost me 1BB in the end if both opponents fold and the CO just calls. I know this didnt happen but I was prepared for the CO to lead and I was just going to smooth call for 2 reasons. CO only had .5BB left in his stack to call with if I raise, meaning I win 1 small bet with a raise if MP1 and mP2 fold. If I smooth call I think both will call behind me. What does everyone think of this play? I think the overcall is the right play. I am trying to get max value, I know overcalling the nuts is not a regular play but it may be the right one here.
Thank you everyone

I go ahead and reraise on the turn, but stack size is important, If one of your opponents calls then you've made money. There's a possibility you could split this with someone, and you have the perfect opportunity to free roll them with your flush draw.

Perhaps I cost myself a few bets by playing the way I do, but with 2 hrts on board and so many in there I think it is far too likely that someone has a hrt draw here.
I like smooth calling the flop because I am semi-preotecting myself here if a scare card hits(waiting to push a bigger esge on turn), and I am also keeping in some folks who are drawing dead right now.
But on the turn I have a chance to make the flush draw pay so I am going to raise it here. You also have to fear the board pairing with this board because a two pair hand is likely with all that paint on the board.....not that 2 pr is going to fold to my raise, but make him pay for the boat.
On the river I will often go for the overcalls if bet into if I feel I can get two behind me to call..otherwise I am raising.

If you have a made hand, you should never be afraid of flush draws that are out against you. Simply because they make their draws less than 50% of the time. If you're a favorite to win, you should be putting as much money as possible in the pot until some other card hits that takes away the fact that you have the nuts. Then you should either fold, or get away as cheaply as possible.
Simply put: Don't ever be afraid of the draw, be afraid after you have proof that it got there.
