I've been thinking of developing a program that plays hold'em for a while now. Something of the sort that would read all sorts of info from poker tracker and figure out certain things that way. I also need a big project to get my honors degree (computer science).
It wouldn't necessarily be a bot, as it wouldn't be designed to make all the decisions in the poker software itself. Probably just consist of me entering in my cards, cards on the board, people at the table, etc. And then having the program chose a move (which hopefully with enough work is the right one).
Anyway, just posting here to see if anybody is interested int he subject, and/or willing to contribute to it in some sort of way.
Mostly I can just see it turning into me posting ridiculous amounts of theoretical situations and hand histories while trying to figure out all the right moves.
Using poker track would obviously add an extra dimension to it, as it would make it more of a dynamic system. Like, if you're on the button, it is folded to you and the blinds have folded to a steal attempts 100% of the time, you raise. If it is a number other than 100% I suppose you would have to do the math to see if it is a profitable move to try and steal, or even just to raise and play the pot anyway, etc. etc.
Anyway, just seeing if any other people out there are interested in this type of thing. I personally can't wait to try it.

maybe i'm missing something the only thing that is keeping this program from being a full fledged bot is the fact YOU enter in the data... Hole Cards, Flops, Turn Card, River card? It's still basically a bot...
and honestly, if you are smart enough to code a bot, then you should be smart enough to play good poker w/o it... Frankly embarking upon the lines of cheating or bad poker ethics is probably not a smart idea...

No, and you will get no support from this site on a project of this type. There is no practical difference between what you are proposing to create and a bot. If you added the ability for the computer to read the board through pixel recognition, you would have a full fledged poker playing robot. And, with no intended offense (ok maybe a little), it would suck at poker.
