HYPER .. INCREDIBLE WORK !! I play 6 max alot ..like it the best. I cut n pasted your post .. the whole of it and am going to read it over and over .. you did a great post !!
I just became a member of FTR and am pleased to find this site .. it is awesome at the least.
Little history bout myself ..
Played Holdem for last 5yrs .. few home games .. no casino's , and ONLINE the most. Took lots of beatings with a few wins .. did not have a clue what i was really doing .. did not know a site like this was out there
Stopped playing after a few terrible bad beats bout a year ago and played only Play NL on PartyPoker just for fun (I advise no one play free games to learn .. i suggest get a program called Poker Academy .. its the most realistic program i have ever seen .. playing on Party in Play mode will just develop bad habits and a false since or being a GREAT PLAYER .. LOL .. i turned $1000 into $380,000,000 in under 8 mths .. played while tending bar in my PUB i own)
I have once again stopped playin .. bout 3 weeks .. till i get my HEAD straight .. started playing bout 6 mths back .. drove $100 up to over $2000 .. 4 times .. then the BIG ONE .. drove $100 ... playin 6 max Limit Holdem to over $8000 in less than 30 days !! .. was playin incredible hours at Players Clubs .. even played while in bed with wifey snoring behind me .. i think the BUZZZzzzz of my Laptop helped her get a good nites sleep LOL.
$8000 !! I was unbeatable ~~ at least that was what i thought ... a friend came into my pub and asked if we could have a game in my PUB .. I said SURE !! .. then proceeded to show him my balance $8000's plus a few bucks !! .. he was impressed .. he did not show up as he said he would with the boys .. i waited and waited .. got bored .. figured i'd play the BIG BOYS up in NL (great a play $$ but no to many games in real $$ .. still gotta figure it out and the 10 player table is not my game) but oilwell .. in i go !!
Fold a few .. gonna play tight LOL .. WOW pocket ROCKETS .. AA .. and $60 in the pot from calls .. 5/10 NL .. MMMmmm i'll bet $300 .. guy to left calls .. everyone else folds .. flop comes K9o .. nice for me !! .. guy to left is first to bet .. he bets $300 just like i did .. i put him on KK with Ace kicker .. AK be it suited or not .. did not matter .. flop was rainbow ... I go ALL IN and figure i'm up $660 !!! ... WHAT ??? .. he calls ?? ... cards flop out .. my aces look good all the way to river .. but his Pocket K9o .. put a fizzle to my Rockets.
Came back in with another $1000 of my $7000 now ... got up a wee bit to $1600 .. hit 2 pair on flop limpin in .. had 33 in pocket .. flop comes 43 sumthing .. who cares !! i got my triple and its lookin GOOD !! .. place a $600 bet ... only one guy calls .. turn is a 4 !! WOW a BOAT .. now this is nice !! I Bet $600 .. the guy goes all in .. i call .. his pocket was 34 .. givin him the win .
Put another $1000 in ... tilting now .. get chewed slowly .. put $100 in gets eaten up by a guy callin my $70 allin with garbage and he catches on the river and says .. it was only $70 .. why not call ? ..
Come back in with $1000 .. till all of it was gone .. it was sad .. a whole mth of wins gone in one sitting.
Bought back in for $100 at the site .. was folding in .50/$1 room .. lost all confidence .. figured what the heck .. went 2/4 Limit 6 max .. had lost aggression and confidence so lost another $100 .. signed up for bonuse $300 at Noble Poker for a free e-book at some site .. got the e-book .. got first part of bonus .. then got hammered in i can't even remember what it was .. my GOD .. i CAN'T PLAY POKER .. how did i win that $8000 from $100 .. was it just luck ... then i realized .. i was ME .. i had to back off .. then i went nuts and started purchasing e-books .. Poker Tracker .. Poker Pal Pro .. Poker Spy .. downing any info that would help from any site that gave pointers on how to improve ... it was sad ... so much info and tools that my mind could not even comprehend yet let alone read .. would take years LOL.
Then i found FTR ... it is organized and it if full of people just like me .. i'm takin my time to study now and figure out my leaks and what i did wrong .. but i luv 6 max and head to head Holdem .

YOUR POST has got me inspired again .. i think i found out what i was doing wrong .. lol .. i was playin NL !! .. 6 max is my game not NL and your post got me back on track.

MMMmm does anyone out there dream anything other thans cards floppin in the night or is it just me? Flushed the toilet yesterday and swore i saw $100 Black chips .. go down the drain .. along with a few $25 chips .. am i EaTinG chips without knowing it ??

Just read my post .. bein my first post n all ..
I do believe my 33344 on the turn look really nice .. i kept seeing 3's .. i said the guy had 34 pocket .. but he may have had K4 or Q4 or J4 or even 94 .. but i kept seeing 3's .. still seeing 3's .. i dream about 3's .. oh .. and Kings and nines.

The wifey misses the HUMMmmmm of my laptop at nite .. have to get back into playin holdem 6 max again soon.

Have been working on some very good Money Management Plans .. if i can get it down in an orderly form i will try to make a post .. i actually think it is kinna neat .. sorrta like havin a great bank which is important !! and how to form the bank step by step and when bank is formed .. how to create steps upward and within each unit allowed from bank at one time that will stop tilts !! ..
Made a game out of it .. sortta like a personal Tourney with step leading up a level at a time from each start from bank and bank allowin 20 starts .. but they would not be needed unless ya lose constantly .. as you go up the steps .. by winning .. you also go down the steps slowly when losing .. and back up again when winning .. if ya go down to many steps .. ya take a break and figure out why .. then proceed after you figure out there errors or your ways and feel good about game .. no tilting ever again i hope .. the word i think i'm looking for is SELF CONTROL .. 2 words sorry ..
This might be good for players that have to start low but want a shot the next level up without have to develope a HUGE BANK for it to be possible.

I started with $50 .. hit over $1700 first try after being off over a year .. then took shortcuts after losing that $1700 real fast upstairs with the big boys .. started with $100 after that.
So it is possible to start with $50 .. grind it out low .. get a good bank and actually win $$ per month with Holdem.

My problem was quite noticeble in the $5/$10 Limit room .. i was way out of my skill area.
But .. my little 6max games starting at .25/.50 Limit got me right up to $20/$40 6max limit. It is possible and Hyper's post can help people in their 6max Limit game .. 10 and 6max are not the same game .. i find 6 max nicer as i can just stare blankly at the screen and watch movements of bets of other 5 players .. sortta like a dance taking place or a picture being painted .. seems so much easier than the 10 player tables .. and not as boring.
Easier also cardwise and odd wise. But ya gotta be aggressive at times and steal one on one as you do in Head to Head with good position or if you spot weakness in the other player .. those blinds can keep you breathin in a game.

Fnord .. sorry bout posting under Hypers post. Did not see the Only Hypers Sign.

Yes .. a Newbie to FTR .. glad i found this site .. nice people .. good advice and lots of information. Hyper did well on his post and is willing to listen to others negitive comments on certian aspects in it and is willing to acknowledge that cetain parts can be improved. I do believe this is a revised addition of his first shot at it .. all i can say is that each time he revises it .. it will get better and more solid. Good Work Hyper

I reread my first post .. the drive from $100 in Limit 6max to $8000 in less than one month .. was incorrect .. it was around $6600 US funds which came to approx $8000 Canadain. This was lost in 5/10 NL before the month had ended ... seems I have a lot to learn about NL .. hopefully will be able to improve my game in that area from posts in FTR.

The HUGE loss in NL caused my confidence in my plays .. even in Limit 6max to go from high to one of the lowest lows i have had in years.

Acutally stopped playing for a while again to get a proper perspective on my plays .. not sure now if i was on some sortta streak .. lucky streak .. or did i really play correctly to get that high in wins. Poker Tracker would have come in hand during that period and also better money management ... the tilt and bad beats were incredible .. i understand why the player called my $300 bet with K9o .. he wanted heads up with me and got a very lucky flop K9o and some small card. My AA still looked good to me .. i put him on KK A .. the big slick .. would have never guessed K9o .. was thinking mabey also pocket Kings or pocket nines .. but then he would have raised my first $300 bet .. was i wrong in NL to go all in with my pocket AA's to take down the $660 that was in the pot after his $300 bet after the flop?

K9o .. called with a $300 raise by me .. he was largest stack at table .. with $10 in pot if i was in his position .. i would have folded in with 10 players at the table .. in 6max .. with just limpers or folders and sitting on the button with only SB and BB and one limper .. i have raised with this similar and folded both blinds and the limper as i usually only see just under 25% of pots. Position is the word in 6max and playing the players is very important as usually like in heads up .. if ya can fold most of table and only one player stays .. and control of table is being done through the raise .. chances are you will win pot before river .. you can gut feel if a player has caught some part of pot in most cases but over the long haul .. you will take down more than you lose.
