Interesting hand. Nice pot!! I'm seat #8. Results in white.

How would you have played this hand differently?

Here's my self-analysis:
---------------------------
[1] Even with the A the on-flop, the pot was too big to fold to the flop-raise. Plus, I had a back-door flush draw.

[2] I think I should have re-raised on 4th street ... I couldn't credit the raiser with AA and therefore I think I should have assumed I was in the lead to one of: a semi-bluff on spade flush draw, two pair or a lower set. (Sets are of course VERY hard to read).

[3] Tough to re-raise on 5th for value given the possible spade-flush, but in retrospect I think I should have. The only valid reason that I can think of to not re-raise for value would be if I had a solid read that would suggest the flop raiser is capable of semi-bluffing a flush draw on the flop.

Comments/Thoughts?

Looks like the turn was capped? I count 1 bet and 3 raises.

I like it.

Good result, especially when a scare card (spade) hit the river

I think you answered your own question. If you can't put either player on pocket Aces, then you could haved capped 4th street.

That said, I would not have raised the river for two reasons. (1) the spade, and (2) PDXTIM was still to play. If you didn't put either player on AA, then I would have thought that at least 1 player hit the flush. (obviously they didn't).

Anyway, I hardly every comment on hand based on my relative lack of experience. But I would have capped 4th street and not raised on the river .What if PDXTIM re-raises, and potchimp re-raises?

(this is my tight/agressive/ omg on the river approach - lol)

Based on your own read, you must really be hoping your kings would hold up, yet you are raising with another player to act?

Anyway, I'd really love to know what PDXTIM had...

78suited, 56suited, A5 or A6 with A being spade maybe??
Gone golfing ..see ya in the Fall of 2006
PS. What did the snail on the turtle's back say?
Wheeeeeeeee........

Turn was capped. My mistake.

I'm PotChimp.

I'm still undecided about re-raising 5th .... Leaning towards yes though.
