Since this (and SS1) are the only two books I own, I'm going back into an intense study and review of my limit play. I hope to do this be rereading HEPFAP (I don't own SSHE)

I started yesterday reading through the first chapter (on preflop play) and part of the 2nd, and i've been taking notes the whole time. This is kind of a back to basics for me, and i'm really trying to review my basics, and fundamentals of TAA play.

If its ok with the mods I could post my notes. Many people here have read HEPFAP and could critique my notes, making sure i'm taking the right information from each section. Also it would offer a lot of basic strategy to talk about, since a lot of people here tend to assume a base level of knowledge amongst all members and get right into discussing advanced plays, specific situations (HH's etc...)

If I shouldn't post it here thats fine too, just wanted the official word first.

I'd get rid of Hepfap, burn it until you ready for at least 3/6. You can do what you ask in the Poker Etcetra forum like Demiparadigm's operation if you would like.

I've heard of people who would go to borders just to read SSH. Its THAT good.

Actually, when you get to that level consider reading King Yao's book instead.

I tried hard to read Yaos. I really did. But math does not come easy to me, and it really made my head swim. Unfortunate for a limit player, where math is fairly important.
<Staxalax> Honestly, #flopturnriver is the one thing that has improved my game the most.

I just got done reading HE4AP and wow I knew 96-98% of the material already, nothing real new to me... I’m about to start King Yao's book, I have glanced though it and it doesn't look like the math in it is for the light hearted...

Most of the math, while germane, isn't particularly impactful to my game. The useful part for me was his treatment of subjective aspects of a hand (fold equity, chance you are ahead, etc.) in a rigorous way. It fundamentally changed the way I saw my hole cards and the board.

Cool then maybe I’ll get a little more out of that book then I did HE4AP…

I have learned so much this past month that god I wish I knew all this BEFORE I started playing 2/4 a long time ago, but either way, since I started 1/2 6max I know my post flop game and my blinds game has improved at least 5 to 10 times then when I started at 2/4...

December was one of those months that I swallowed my loss and it was hard going down, dropped to 1/2 6max and I haven’t been playing anything since then... read adjusted my goals and outlook, now I’m playing bettor and enjoying playing more...

Instead of doing a 300bb rule like I was, I bumped it to 500bb since I have to pay bills and shit out of my roll... plus playing 6max only now... and a little HU at times... HU I strongly fell you probably should have more then 500bb because that shit will get REAL swingy, 100bb in an hour is not very uncommon...

So if I had to suggest a type game to a solid player, you’re going to have to learn 6 max eventually, might as well start at 1/2 or 2/4, ding out the kinks before you start 3/6 or 5/10 6max… I love 6max now that I know what the hell I’m doing…

Cool, so a good learning routine would be to play full ring until bankrolled for 1/2 6max then slowly transition?

i'm pretty good at math....but i think I have more than enough material to digest on for the next few months to say the least
