I'm generally a no-limit player, and I decided to play micro-limit on Absolute Poker earlier. The following hand came up in which I had the nuts on the turn but I was rivered by a pretty poor play. What mistakes did I make in this hand, other than get rivered?

Should I have re-raised on the flop with my two overcards and a gutshot to the nuts, or should I have not been in the hand to begin with holding KQo? I was fairly sure my hand was best pre-flop, as these guys were maniacs, as is evidenced by JWG three-betting K8o and Billybully cold-calling preflop with 39.

you totally screwed up preflop without capping.
- you miss out on a lot of equity that you can't make up for postflop

shoulda raised the flop
- to get more money in the pot

the turn was ok

3betting the river was very bad.

Explain to me when it makes sense to cap KQo pre-flop? Ax and any pair both have more equity than you.

too much study and no poker play make me read it as KK....

in that case all streets were well played....i still think you could probably find a river fold vs a bet/raise

p.s. i've been misreading hand histories a lot lately

You cant fold this river considering the size of the pot and the level of which he is playing.

According to my poker tracker stats, KQo is my 6th worst hand by BB/hand. Makes me wonder if I should still play it...lol

That was exactly my reasoning on the river - I thought it was certainly possible that one of these clowns just hit the backdoor flush, but the chances of that were slim enough, and the pot large enough, that I somehow found myself three-betting
