I had position on a very loose player, and then got raised and could not seem to get away. Was hoping final opp had AK or AQ, etc.

Where should I have shut this down?

Raise or fold pre-flop. Calling is HORRIBLE.

I couldn't agree more. Don't limp with that garbage.

RAISE: You want to put pressure on the blinds and hopefully make it heads up against a weak limper .... (See Fnord's comments in another thread about how he thinks that A-rag isn't even a good blind stealing hand).

FOLD: If there was more than one limper in front of you, or that one limper was a tight/ok player, IMHO, folding is your only option.

OTB, SB (rarely), and BB are the only positions from which you should ever be playing A-rag-off!

Most of the time, you should just fold that crap! Why voluntarily thrown your money into that kind of investment? Limping with A-rag-offsuit is akin to investing your savings in Enron shares or real-estate in the Florida everglades.

I dump with one limper already in the pot. I might try the blind steal if the blinds are tight. Otherwise I always dump this garbage.

Fold on that flop.....
