i'm a bit troubled by this hand. it was folded to me on the button, and i had a pretty good hand, which i raised. the SB folds, and BB calls. the BB is a typical LP-P, here's the hand history:
***** Hand History for Game 1304113994 *****
$1/$2 Hold'em - Wednesday, December 15, 11:53:57 EDT 2004
Table Table 10744 (6 max) (Real Money)
Seat 4 is the button
Total number of players : 6
Seat 3: player3 ( $39.25 )
Seat 5: player5 ( $33 )
Seat 8: player8 ( $52.75 )
Seat 6: hypermegachi ( $99 )
Seat 10: player10 ( $23.25 )
Seat 1: player1 ( $31.5 )
player8 posts small blind [$0.5].
player1 posts big blind [$1].
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to hypermegachi [ :Ad: :Td: ]
player3 folds.
player5 folds.
hypermegachi raises [$2].
player8 folds.
player1 calls [$1].
** Dealing Flop ** [ :Ah:, , ]
player1 bets [$1].
hypermegachi raises [$2].
player1 raises [$2].
hypermegachi did not respond in time.
hypermegachi folds.
player1 does not show cards.
player1 wins $9
i thought long and hard about whether to call down or not...in fact i took so long it folded because i couldn't react in time.
now i was running over this table with lots of aggression, and in 2 hands before this i just kept betting and raising this guy out of pots. now all of a sudden he reraises me on the flop with 3 flush cards. being LP-P i don't expect this player to know anything about blind protection, so i don't expect him to be bluffing. it will cost me 2.5BB to find out if he's full of shit or not.
i have a strong hand heads up, but the flop is slightly coordinated for straights, and he has lots of outs if he has 1 heart.
bah, call down or fold?

Drawing to 4 outs (the Th is tainted), all of which could still lose if you hit, I'd say it was a reasonable laydown. Consider the reverse implied odds (what you have to pay to find out if your hand is best), not to mention the high probability that the guy will complete his flush if he doesn't have one yet.
Generally, though, I follow Sklansky's advice to not fold after you've raised, as it encourages everyone to bluff into you.

can you explain this? did he mean never fold after you raise, or just in this particular instance?

hyper - it was a good fold:
- pots smallish
- bad flop for you
- you asked a question by raising, he answered it
