So I pretty much never fold an overpair in a pot that's capped pre. Is that bad vs the somewhat tighter types (say 15/12 or less at this level)

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
Limit Holdem $0.25(BB) Replayer
SB ($10.30)
BB ($4)
UTG ($6)
UTG+1 ($25.25)
Hero ($7.35)
CO ($11.05)
BTN ($8.65)

first couple hands / no reads

Dealt to Hero Q Q

fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.50, fold, fold, SB raises to $0.75, fold, Hero raises to $1, SB calls $0.25

FLOP ($2.25) J 9 4

SB bets $0.25, Hero calls $0.25

TURN ($2.75) J 9 4 4

SB bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50

RIVER ($3.75) J 9 4 4 8

SB bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50

guy is 15/13 (10% 3bet but not over a good sample) over 300 hands.

Limit Holdem $0.25(BB) Replayer
SB ($4.50)
BB ($12.15)
UTG ($19.35)
UTG+1 ($23.80)
UTG+2 ($7.75)
MP1 ($11.35)
MP2 ($9.40)
MP3 ($10.35)
CO ($11.40)
Hero ($8.20)

Dealt to Hero J J

fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.50, SB raises to $0.75, fold, Hero raises to $1, SB calls $0.25

FLOP ($2.25) T 7 9

SB bets $0.25, Hero calls $0.25

TURN ($2.75) T 7 9 3

SB bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50

RIVER ($3.75) T 7 9 3 Q

SB bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50

raise flop in either of these hands? should JJ be 3bet / capped pre vs most opponents at this level? [not vs 10/8 in early obviously]

Basically I just feel like a idiot calling down feeling quite beat but I'm guessing that is standard for limit? We only need to be right like once in 8 or so.

In case you can't tell I mostly focus on NL sit n goes so these aren't really my game but it feels nice to boot up a 6-8 tables of limit every now and then for something new and when I don't want to commit 2 hours. I kindof like the mechanical / math aspect of limit so I should be playing quite a bit more.

So far I'm running (pretty irrelevant sample of 2.5K hands) just wondered if anything stood out. I'll post back at 10K or 15K hands.

More hands / stats to come.

also an instructional hand on how not to play Hold'em but especially limit

Dealt to Hero Q A

fold, UTG+1 calls $0.25, Hero raises to $0.50, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold

Hero shows Q A

Hero wins $0.85

Some guys won't cap and then barrel with whiffed AJ/AQ/AK, but many will, even the players that seem nitty.

First hand looks fine. I definitely cap JJ in the second hand, and call down when he keeps coming at you on that board. The queen on the river wasn't a great card, since now you basically only beat spazzy AJ/AK/88, but I'd probably still call it. If another heart or an ace hits, you'd have to let it go though.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

In hand 1 i think you can raise the turn, FWIW i play at .25/.5 and .5/1 and a lot of the time i expect the flop donk to be whatever hand he decided to 3 bet you with pre. you have a good deal of equity against a 8% 3 betting range in the turn for it to be for value.

In hand 2 i would also raise the turn too. Its a good card for our hand as in that its not a Heart an A/K/Q/J and its a resteal spot so his range should be wide enough to have enough hands in it we can get value from.

Folding in either pot is out of the question , even in the 1st hand if the river brings another flush card.

Your stats are over a really small sample but 13/8 with a pre 3% of 3.5 is not going to get the job done IMO. its seems too nitty to be profitable. You need to 3 bet more in late position and steal the blinds a bit more IMO. table select , find a bad player and sit on his left and raise the shit out of him.
