i have been picking on villain all day! he is a total tight ass from the blinds and seems to enjoy giving them to me without a fight. (villain is listed as TPA, fwiw, but plays more like a rock.) however, anyone with an active brain will take a shot at you at some point when you wear out your welcome. i dont care much because i wont stop until i get convinced he has changed gears off my read....too profitable to let one little 3bet or flop raise stop me. he has never shown the ability to semibluff raise to my knowledge, but HAS tended to overplay overpairs and whiffed AK type hands...and he absolutely will miss value slowplaying monsters...

PokerStars Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9, 8
3 folds, Hero raises, BB calls

Flop: (4 SB) 9, 8, 10 (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls

Turn: (3 BB) 3 (2 players)
Hero bets, BB raises, Hero 3-bets, BB caps, Hero calls

do we like the 3bet here given villain overplays overpairs?

River: (11 BB) K (2 players)
Hero ??

with a one pair hand, this is a simple c/c, but with any one pair hand beat....that he could be overplaying HU, like JJ-QQish, are we leaning b/c? (when on a downer, i see monsters like straights here, too, and turn was the perfect spot to raise me with one if he luck-flopped it....which is primarily why i 3popped him.)

or, is there an even better approach?
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!

He won't jam his monsters but he will jam his overpairs. It looks like a river cap to me since he's more likely to have AA than KK.

I'm b/c'ing here.

If you bet and get raised, do you really want to risk getting capped with 2 small pair? Squeeze the river... but 3betting is overplay imo.
