bluff inducer and likely very standard. villain is 47/10/1.5 and i've seen him steal a couple times already from lp...
PokerStars Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
Preflop: Hero is SB with 8 , 8
1 fold, MP raises, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, 1 fold, MP calls
Flop: (7 SB) 2 , 7 , 9 (2 players)
Hero bets, MP calls
Turn: (4.5 BB) 5 (2 players)
Hero bets, MP calls
River: (6.5 BB) K (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets, Hero calls
Total pot: $4.25 (8.5 BB) | Rake: $0.20
i feel i am best by far. but, also think that villain, being aggressive, will take a shot at that K when i apparently give it up. but, i feel he will fold a ton of his range if i lead again (all his draws).
do we ever have the balls to c/r here? i doubt he ever calls that w/o the winning hand.

I just call. Against a check-raise, he folds all hands you could beat, and raises or calls all hands that have you beat. I think a call wins you the most money, or costs you the minimum.

Standard by you, bad by him (unless he has a K).

I love the play. The only thing I can think of is that might speak out against it, and I'm just throwing it out there for conversation purposes;
I prefer to lead the river and I want him to fold. It costs a bet but it keeps our hand hidden if he folds...if he raises and we call (because we'll be getting 8.5:1 and there is no way we're more then 85% sure this guy isn't bluffing on a raise with that card) we lose the extra big bet but we get to see what he's playing. If he folds, he has not idea what we're playing and I like keeping info from my players as much as I like getting from them.
You mentioned he had A high, but which A? I ask because if it was a low one, then we got him pegged and can easily play this way against him in the future. If it was AT or AJ then he wasn't really bluffing and we'll have to be more carefull about playing PP's against him post flop without a set...just throwing it out there.

it was A-lo. i will usually call it AJ even if its unpaired. i respect AJ in this spot. but, AX is just a bluff hoping against hope most times.
