Hi folks

If you are getting 3-bet lots by the SB and BB and want some good advice on options to deal with it, check out this link.

Several posters in the link also discuss BB defence .

Anyway, there is very good discussion/debate by knowledgable players. Thought some folks might be interetsed.

Some of their replies weren't really good, in fact, we've had a similar argument here about blind stealing hands I posted last summer.

I'm going to have to think about the 3-bet preflop then check the flop method, as I am more intrigued on this line and when to use it.

Actually, I am with baronzeus here. He's a high limit player and I've played with him before and he's pretty good. 3bet preflop is the way to go for a multitude of reasons, all of which were explained in the thread.

But, this thread that articknight created was dealing with chronic 3 betters. If you KNOW he's defending his blind, and its probably with a worse hand than you are raising, then cap your hand. Also, I'm more inclined to go to showdown with middle/bottom pair in blind steal situations.

i think bothI think both types of lines (calling or 3 beating off BB) can work depending on the situation and the players...

True, as with most things on 2 + 2, u have to weed through the chatter to get at the good stuff. I agree that baronzeus has good points on this and most of his posts, but the points by sweetjazz and the reponses by others are good food for thought.

I've been thinking about the 3/bet check method, and its use on monsters against aggressive opponents.

I was in a hand where I was stealing with QT, a guy defended and checked the flop and turn with two pair (slow playing) only to allow me to runner runner my straight. So, checking the flop and turn, in my limited experience is a dumb idea. If your opponent checks behind the flop you've got to value bet any monster on the turn.
