I play party poker 0.5/1 and was going only in tables that had avg pot of 8$. I decided yesterday to go to only tables with avg. pot of 7$. I found out a difference (maybe its all random and i am trying to find a pattern here). My check raise on flop wasnt much good in the 8$ pot tables but yesterday sometimes allowed me to get 2 free cards till showdown and won a few miniscule pots where no one had anything. also, if i didnt improve i could fold later. I am trying to clear a bonus (200 raked hands to go) and am playing 2 tables.

How it has affected my play is that I am playing more cautiously now (i used to ram and jam the flop with TPTK and keep betting) and hence my huge losses with AQ and AK. I figure, all i need to do is not lose money over next 200 hands to get the bonus, and do a reload again .

does it make sense, or am i setting myself up for bad habits and poor play for the future in the event i do move up to 2-4 someday (i hope...!!).
Since I am multitabling, i am playing more tight now, and am easily letting go hands like Q-10o, K-10o that i was playing earlier in late position. Since these 7$ tables seem more passive i can look at flops cheaply for baby pocket pairs, but i can raise when i have premium hands.

It’s completely random man, I have done same thing I usually shot for the $8+ avg. pot tables because typically these are the looser ones the $7 can have potential but not so much when like 4 Taggs join the table, where on the other hand a $8+ might have tags already and you are taking one of the fishes that left seat, and same with the $7 you might be sitting down in a spot where another Tagg left, and you have plenty of fishes…
