Umm, I think I only run this line against a compulsive stealer... your hand sucks to be honest, and on the flop it just gets worse, many opponents wont lay down any Ace they play it straight to show down just like his line... turn I mean you pair but how often is it going to be good at SD with a FD, SD and a ton of over cards to your pair possible to hit the river...
When that card hits the river if I was your opponent I might try a line at you, I mean let’s think about this... I raised PF got 3 bet and I called, I c/c the flop and turn, then this card hits the river what can you put me on here OTHER then any Ax, KQ-K9 (maybe larger), QJ-Q9, JT-J9, T9, AA-22 are the main ones I can think of but I have tried steals with a wider range because of a tight blind...
So given my range there are 5 or so hands with a 9 in it, witch makes a straight, another 5 or so with top pair, 1 each for 4--8, 5 possible sets (but I would have shown more strength then that), AA-JJ all play stronger unless really passive, 6 big over cards hands missed
So in reality given my range here you only beat 6 hands out of 20 not to mention the fact some of the hands are suited in my range so really you only beat an avg of 3 out of 20...
Do I think you're defense was profitable in the long run? Not so much...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On a side note your weren’t playing me I have no idea what his stats are reads est. when it comes to blind steals and defense, it's all about knowing your opponent...
Also this is 0.5/1 if I remember correctly, I never bothered with it till I hit 2/4 and still beat the game for 2bb/100, blind play and these concepts come more important when you get mid-low stakes and on up…
Don’t get the fancy play syndrome here, because maybe 2% or less of the players will even have heard of it and less will completely understand it…
prob the fact it's .5/1 i think that a lot of hand call or raise the river here that would have him completly beat, K4s is not a good hand aganst this guys range here... so that's why i think it's bad...
i also don't agree with defending any 2 idea either so i don't know if you want to take my advice or not...
