Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
Preflop: Hero is SB with T , A .
3 folds, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, Hero caps, BB calls.
Flop: (8 SB) 8 , 2 , 3 (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.
Turn: (5 BB) 7 (2 players)
Hero bets, BB folds.
BB is 35/15 thinking player, the type that would defend his blind. Was I too aggresive here, or can I go with my read that he is just defending?

I figure if you just call his re-raise, you reaffirm his belief that you are stealing. If you cap, it shows that you are willing to put more money in knowing he will probably call, when in reality, you are just setting him up to fold the flop or turn.

If you just call, your hand is significantly harder to play.
You hold ATo, raise. He reraises. You call
Flop K7x. He leads out. Ermm... shit... peel one and fold unimproved is about all you can do.
You hold ATo, raise, he reraises, you cap.
Flop K7x. He checks, you bet, ball is in his court. Essentially you've switched that "oh shit" moment from your problem to his problem.

except that this is 0.5/1 and ppl are not reraising that often from bb without a pocket pair or big cards and calling you down no matter what.
You are in same deep trouble with the cap out of position.
