Those of you who play a lot of 6 max, how often do you go to showdown? For the record, I'm at 35%, winning 54% at showdown.
One of the big leaks in my 6 max game appears to be folding too many marginal hands.

Without knowing what level of 6-max you are playing it is hard to say what your went to showdown should be:
For me:
1/2 (6-max): 37.09 only ~800 hands, for what that is worth
5/10 (6-max): 36.48 ~100K hands
10/20 (6-max): 38.48 ~5K hands
overall: 36%
HTH, from what I can tell the 1/2 is pretty tight, and you need to go to showdown more as you move up, as players will make more "moves"
against you. Oh yeah, I only win about 50% at showdown, but I would
rather call and lose 1 bet than fold a winner and lose the pot.

maybe you should try calling down less to bring that W@SD up...it might increase your win rate. in your attempt to quit folding the best hand....you might be calling down with the crappier hard too often.

Oh, I surely calldown with the worst hand sometimes, but the # of bets I make the few times I have the best hand I think warrents the calldown. I am only right maybe 1 in 4 times but I make enough with that pot to call down the other 3 times plus some. I don't feel like doing the math now, so I'll just ask your general strategy for an extermely aggressive LAG game? To be fair I should note, I usually only calldown in a heads up pot.

I play 5/10 6max, but it doesn't look like your stats vary that much by level.
I asked this question because I routinely see folks seeing more than 40% of showdowns (on admittedly small samples, but nevertheless), and I have come across a number of folded hands that would have won when trying to plug leaks in my game.

koolmoe,
My numbers @ 1/2 are really short, and I probably should not have included
them, as I was there only to get some 6-max preparation before jumping into
the 5/10. I realized quickly that it was not going to be much help in that
regard, so I just too my lumps at the 5/10. I would say that until you are
very comfortable post flop with the 5/10 short game that you should be
seeing a lot of showdowns, but the number will go down as you play more
hands, and have a better feeling for when you are truly beat. My 10/20
numbers will probably go up since I am still learning how that game plays,
and need to readjust from the 5/10.
