Just going to ramble and maybe start a discussion. Mostly, I'm talking about when you just check the BB with a rag hand like 10-6, or 10-7, J-8, etc. Say you hold J-8 and the flop is J-2-2. I feel like if I bet out, I wont get a lot of action unless I am beat (or someone is on a draw). So how do you play it? Check and hope someone else puts some money in? Or do you just bet it out and take it down since you played it in the blinds. There's a lot of scare cards that can come on the turn. Moreso if you hold J-7 and the flop is J-8-8. Any A,K,Q,10,9, or 7 are'nt good cards for your hand.
Thoughts?

Take it before someone else does. If they call your flop bet, re-evaluate on the turn.

I say absolutely lead out and bet here. He could be holding KQ Ax, you want them out. Why give any free cards. You want to punish them for calling with a bad draw.

Your hand is extremely vulnerable with 3 overcards that can come on the turn or river. Taking the pot on the flop is an excellent result.

Reads matter. If I have someone that auto-bets IP, i'm CR'ing; otherwise I'm leading. On a side note, I also take note if the board is really drawless. Eg you have Qx and lead a Q22 rainbow board. In an unraised pot, it is somewhat unlikely to see someone holding AK, so the only other reasonable call you should get is someone calling you with either Qx or 2x. Then again, if you're playing 2/4 or below, you might be getting called by 34/56 or a BDFD.
