Playing $1/$2 6-max, I flopped a full house from the small blind with weak hole cards. Table was loosish. The hand converter didn't work, so I cleaned up the hand history manually. I will post my thoughts in bold. I have two specific questions below, but please comment on any part where you think I should have played it differently.

SB (me): posts small blind $0.50
BB: posts big blind $1

----- HOLE CARDS -----
dealt to SB (me) [6 9]
UTG: calls $1
MP: calls $1
CO: calls $1
Btn: calls $1
SB (me): calls $0.50
BB: checks

Question 1: Is a call here worth it? I decided to see a flop (hoping for two 6's, two 9's, 69, or 78, or I would check/fold). I wasn't sure if this call was worth it.

----- FLOP ----- [6 9 9]
SB (me): checks
BB: checks
UTG: bets $1
MP: folds
CO: calls $1
Btn: calls $1
SB (me): calls $1
BB: folds

Perfect! Sometimes I bet out with hands like this, but based on the field, I decided to slowplay the flop and either checkraise or bet the turn depending on who bet the flop. I felt like my table image was tight and if I bet this flop I might kill any action I would otherwise get.

----- TURN ----- [6 9 9][2]
SB (me): checks
UTG: bets $2
CO: folds
Btn: calls $2
SB (me): raises $4
UTG: folds
Btn: calls $2

Based on the flop action, and my knowledge of UTG's playing style (he almost always bet the turn after betting a flop and getting no raisers), it looked like a flop call and turn checkraise would be profitable, so that's the line I chose.

----- RIVER ----- [6 9 9 2][Q]
SB (me): bets $2
Btn: raises $4
SB (me): raises $4
Btn: raises $4
SB (me): calls $2

First note that at this poker server, when heads up at the river, there is no cap on number of raises. You can raise until you are out of money.

Btn was a pretty good player, so the river raise made me think he was slowplaying with A9 or K9, so I re-raised. When he re-raised back I stopped to think. By this point he must have known I had trips 9 or better. So this player would have just called with any 9 other than A9, K9, Q9, 69, or 29. I wasn't too afraid of QQ, because this player would probably have raised pre-flop with QQ, but there was a small chance he would have just called. And I don't think he would have called with 29 or 69 preflop. So he probably had one of: A9, K9, Q9, QQ, 66, or 22. I just called, fearing Q9 (or slight chance of QQ).

Question 2: Against a good player (who was spending time before raising, and clearly thinking about what I might be holding), should I have re-raised yet again for value (thinking this player will have A9, K9, 66, or 22 often enough), or was the call good (thinking this player will have Q9 or QQ often enough to just call). And if continuing a raise war is correct here, at what point do you decide you might be beat and just call?

5 bets max without the nuts against aware players.
But yeah, I might pop it one more time.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

I agree with Demi, you should have raised him once more on the river.

I like how you played the flop there.

I think you played it great

I can't put him on QQ without a PFR. If I'm the button, I re-raise you on the turn thinking my kicker is good even if I put you on trip 9's. I have a real hard time putting him on a bigger full house. On the river, I definitely raise itup one more time. If he raises me again, I might begin to consider giving him credit for the nuts. River should go to 5 bets if there is not a four bet max.
