1) Only had about 25 hands this guy, but he seem like typical drop-in (i.e., bad) player...

Turn raise good here? River i think is a must call?

PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, 8.
4 folds, SB completes, Hero raises, SB calls.

Flop: (4 SB) 2, 8, 9 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

Turn: (3 BB) 6 (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, SB calls.

River: (7 BB) Q (2 players)
SB bets, Hero ?




2) Villian is standard more-or-less solid player. Book says call pfr with 96s here. Book says c/r pair on flop. Book doesn't say whether to just call 3bet or cap...? Also, i'd appreciate advice on how to play the turn in either case.

Hand 1: Call river, nice hand.
Hand 2: What book has you calling this raise? If you think he'll 3-bet AJ+, then I think we need to play a turn and even consider check/calling the flop.

Grudzien and Herzog say call a raise with >=35% equity against raiser's range. 96s has 36% against solid 22% raiser from MP.

Also, someone who'll 3bet the flop with overcards seems like the perfect player to c/r with a made hand.

Hand 1 i called river and villian turned over KQ. 'nh', i said. 'ty', he said (you get that a lot on 1/2)

Hand 2 i capped flop. Turn was 4c and i bet out, villian folded.
