drmcboy, I read in a different thread that you recommend new players play full ring versus 6 max. Is this because you think there's more money to be made playing FR at micro/low stakes or is it because a new player should learn PLO at FR first before trying 6 max?
On cardrunners there's a grand total of 2 FR videos and one of them is from 2006.
Any thoughts on what VPIP/PFR should be at these stakes? Small sample, but I'm ~20/5 at 25PLO and I have no idea what to think of this. I feel like a nit and I pretty much never raise.

20 % is OK starting out. add in more raises, first IP, mostly with hands that play OK vs a three bet. Depends a lot of short stacks at the table as well, they sometimes force more limping.
I find FR softer over all - mostly even the 'good' players are just nits who are easy to "read" since they just have the nuts and/or AA. Almost all of the guys who can hand read and raise/3 bet a lot play 6 max instead.
Since you will have more people in the pot, the pot size will usually mean you can commit on the flop or turn rather than having a PSB+ left on the end. easier for new players. for same reason being OOP is not as bad in FR.
All that also means big pairs play better - more players means someone has a lower set more often, getting the money in on flop/turn is good for sets, and you will almost never see a 3 bet and can usually limp in EP. If there is a 3 bet from a full stack you can probably call anyway because it's 100% AA, although usually don't cold call a 3 bet unless the table conditions are just right.
Watch the vids to get ideas on what hands are playable in LP when the pots aren't normally 4+ way, otherwise just focus on making or drawing to the nuts. Hwang's first book is great for full ring.

Yeah I've read Hwang's book. I also watched a couple 6 max videos. What confuses me about raises is that depending on how much you raise, you'll get rid of a bunch of limpers. So in 6 max this seems optimal since you'll often buy the buttom when you raise and you get to see flops HU. Getting rid of limpers is contrary to a lot of Hwang's strategy, though, so I'm always reluctant to raise in FR.
For example, if I have 689T on the bu and there are 3 limpers, should I raise 3x to try to get the limpers to come along? Or should I raise more in hopes of getting HU? Am I raising for value so that the pot is bigger when I'm IP with an okay hand, or am I raising to see the pot 2 or 3-way to make it easier for me to win post flop? Does it depend on the hand? On the players?
