This was a hand that was dealt to me yesterday. Tell me what you all think. I was playing 1/2 limit PP.
I'm in MP dealt 88. A few call to me and I just call. No one raises pre-flop. Flop is AAx. One bets and I'm the only caller. Turn is 8. I just hit a full boat, so I bet out and it ends up capped. I put him on Ax. River is J. I check, he bets, I call. He shows AJ for aces full of jacks. Was my betting and raising correct in this situation?

personally, i would have folded my eights to the bettor after the flop.
i would have put the bettor on ace something just because ace anything is the most "popular" PP hand.
you getting the 8 on the turn was luck; his picking up the jack was luckier (at least for him ).

Pre-flop:
Raise if you think you can get it down to a heads up or 3-way pot against limpers where you either have a small or big edge. Otherwise I'm just calling.
Flop:
In a multi-pot, fold without a set. Heads up, I call it down if the X is less than an 8, particuarly if he didn't come in with a raise. Or a better possible line against a non-aggressive player is to raise the flop, dump if he 3-bets it or bets back into you unimproved on the turn otherwise check the turn and think about calling the river for a net savings of 1 small bet if you're behind and he tries to slow play.
Turn:
Cap it baby!
River:
3-outer, poetic justice for hitting your 2 outer on the turn. I would have gone at least 2-3 bets on the river. Tough not to think you still have the best hand here.
