I was just wondering which is usually more profitable, full ring or 6 max tables, at the 1-2,2-4 levels. Should you also use a different bankroll size if you play 6max, and do you sit with 30BB or more? Also what are good sites for this level at 6max?

generally, you can make more per 100 hands in shorthanded play vs full ring. you make money off your opponent's mistakes, and there are way more opportunities for your opponents to mess up in a shorthanded game.

but then again...that doesn't say anything about how much you can make per hour. 8+ tabling full ring is quite doable...but anything more than 4 shorthanded tables is gonna cost you (typically, "default" plays don't work so well shorthanded, you need reads)

general rule is 300BB. some recommend 500BB for shorthanded. play with what you're comfortable with. i wouldn't recommend anything less than 300BB tho.

30BB is a good amount to sit with. again, it doesn't matter. sit with what you're comfortable with. but always have enough to cap every street, and then some.

at 1/2, 2/4, best games are at stars and party. other places tend to be much tighter...but then again, they also provide bonuses and/or rakeback, which help out. playing against tight predictable TAGs isn't such a bad idea either.

6 max is better. Variance is bigger.
Just fold.
