So, i'm playing in that noob HU tourney, and it's great fun, but we all know that HORSE is king of kings of poker.
So, why not do one?
Just starting the thread see what the feedback is. Any opinions and advice on how this could be setup will be most welcome (never dunnit meself!). Anyone interested in participating, or even helping set-up a HORSE FTR tourney?

Could be cool. I'd expect that there will be a HORSE tourney in the Gauntlet that will be set up shortly though if you can wait for that.

really? i asked like 1year ago... not much enthusiasm
actually, not even 1 answer:
http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...es-t72326.html
goes to show how people here (and most everywhere) have come to think of NL as "the only poker". Or maybe they just ignored me cause i (the donk/douche) won that tourney...

You must be doing it wrong.
In the latest Gauntlet feedback thread, HORSE was named multiple times as a variant people would like to see.

im in, obv.
i'm surprised at the response, too. i remember when it was suggested several years ago and it got nothing. only variants were PLO and 6maxNL.
i would, personally, like to see the Guantlet go with several rotations of games and a horse game or two. something like:
6-NL, 6-6maxNL, 2-PLO, PLO8, 2-Stud, Stud8, Razz, 2-7TD, LHE, 3-HORSE.
you would get your best player out of a mix like that, imo. or at least your best "well rounded" player. problem is you would only have 4 people max out their play for the points.

I'm in. I like horse and while I may deposit money just to enter the gaunlet it would be nice to do a HU noob style horse tourn.

Yep. It might be something for in the future, separate from Gauntlet. Seems pretty clear people would like it NL heavy still. I'd also still like to see team events, again, outside of Gauntlet.
Let's do this HORSE thing though. I can set up a Stars tourney. The question is when? Are you really too busy on weekends?

yeah, only because of kids and wife stuff. evenings and nights are best for me right now. that would be hard for asd, though, hes a euro.
however, if you can predict rainouts (i'm a lawnboy), i can play almost anytime....lol.
seriously, if we set it up, i can make it happen with some notice. fridays are better than saturdays.

the story of my life...
I'll have what i consider a good idea, and people will dismiss it as just "something that douchebag said"... Some time later, somebody else will say the same thing, and lo and behold! All hail the genius!

I'd rather play 8-game. Limit only is a little dry imo.
But I'm in either way.

the way i see it: WSOP uses 10k BIs for their biggies. Guantlet uses $10. WSOP uses 50k for their HORSE. we should use $50 for ours.
j/k.
$5 or $10 works well, imo.

An FTR 8-game tournament would be nice.

Ok, Monday, April 13th at 8pm ET. Limit HORSE at Stars. $5.50 (to allow for the most participants).
I'll set it up. If it goes over well, maybe we can do an 8-game as well.
Sorry about just choosing a time, particularly a late one for Euros, but there's no way we can get a sched that would accomodate everyone.

This is teh 2 in the morning CET.
If you could set the start time for the next one just 3h earlier that would be great.

It would be pretty difficult to get a time that works both for North Americans and Euros. Starting that much earlier is 2-5pm in NA and most on the boards have work/school during that time.
Instead, I don't mind setting up something separate that is Euro-centic for you all if you want. Asd, it was your idea, so just pick a time and I'll take care of it.

I think for europe/eastcoast something like 22:00 GMT should be fine (I'm just doing GMT from now on... all those timezones make me feel dizzy.)
If we can get enough players together for that time, then sure. I can't make a commitment, but if I'm home, I'll play for sure. (Tuesday/Saturday I can't)

anywhere from 22.00 to 0.00 GMT+1 is feasable for me, and should be feasable for most US pplz (16.00 - 18.00 Eastern)

Like I said, most ppl are at work/school still in the late afternoon. Those aren't good times even for the East Coast.
Pick a time and day that suits you and I'll set it up.

Yes, I saw what you wrote. But if I'm not playing in it, it's stupid for me to pick the time.
Done. It's called "The asdpikas Open". It has the same password as tonight's tourney.
http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ed-t82865.html
To be clear, this is a 2nd tournament to suit a more Euro-centric time. Tonight's will still go as planned.

i would like to make it in, but still dont know. i was out of the loop for easter, and am a bit confused.
tonight 8 ET (touch early for me because of kids' bedtimes and what not). and, another on sunday at 2200 GMT+1? i am trying to do the conversion from GMT and i suck at it...lol.
looks like 2200GMT+1 becomes 6pm ET (and sunday at 5pm "my time" is also bad, but possibly doable)?
keep bouncing those times around and i will get in the first one i can. we will never ALL make the same one all the time, but if we keep bouncing the times, we will find a time that works best for most of us.

5PM. EDT is GMT-4. He asked for 10PM GMT+1.
But again, if a Euro can check Pokerstars, that would be best. I can't get on at the moment.
