Button plays way too many hands and raises more than his fair share.
SB just sat down with less than the default buy-in.
Let's play some poker baby!
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx
Preflop: Fnord is BB with 7 , A .
3 folds, Button raises, SB calls, Fnord calls.
Flop: (6 SB) 3 , 4 , K (3 players)

Turn: (9 BB) T (3 players)
SB checks, Fnord checks...

So you want Bb to rep the flush and hope for sb call along or even better have a lower flush, then what is yor move? CR or wait until the river?
Best Case: Button Bets out, sb reraise with his inferior flush and Fnord meekly calls along to the river. River i blank and a normal case gives Fnord 2 more BB. Result: 6BB extra
Worst Case: Button plays it safe, River pairs the board and someone of course makes the boat. Result Fnord slaps himself to not pushing when he has the edge and puts it into the variance account.
So what you them to think is that you have at least two pair but no flush cards or? Say that you get the bet and resaise and the river pair the board, do you still push with your flush?

I think bet/3 bet will get you more chips in the pot.
You bet, button raises, SB folds, you reraise you get 3 bets.
You bet, button raises, SB calls, you reraise, button calls, SB calls, you get 6 bets
You bet, button calls, SB calls, you get 2 bets
You check, button bets, SB calls, you raise, button calls, SB calls, you get 4 bets.
You check, button bets, SB calls, you raise, button calls, SB folds, you get 3 bets.
Basically, your expectation of the play comes from the likelihood that the Button will raise and the SB calling.

Against one or more good players, I randomly bet or check this. Against donks, yes I think this is too fancy.

bet it, button will raise and you can 3 bet here........... i see you trying to trap sb for 2 bets but it will amount to about the same, i bet the turn, the sb might come along.

Donks don't give you credit for a flush when there are only three of one suit
I bet it every time against donks
I might get super-high action from like a king-high flush or I might get two people calling down which is STILL better than the other player checking behind because he's scared of all the flop action

Against good players I'm more inclined to bet because they're capable of folding big pairs to this line. I doubt either player here is that capable.

This looks pretty read dependant to me. It depends on what I think the SB has. He bet/called 2/called 1 on that flop. If he's a total donk who will call down his middle pocket pair or K-crap kicker no matter what, I bet here since he will call if/when the button reraises.
Or he could have been on a flush/straight draw, one of which he'll reraise if you bet, one he'll (probably?) fold if it's 2 bets back to him.
Then there's the button who will most likely bet/raise when it gets to him.
Given all that, I'd mix up betting vs check-raising. But add the fact that you capped the flop, I would a lot be more inclined to lead out as if to say "my hand is still good, I'm not afraid of the flush". If I had 3bet/called the flop, then I would likely go for the check-reraise instead.
EDIT: I'm a fan of this line above because nothing raises the red flag more than an aggressive player who SLOWS DOWN when it doesn't look like he should with the hand he represented.

I bet it through, missing bets on these hands just sucks against people that don't fold enough.
