Alright, still consider myself very new to 6max (5k hands). I have a couple questions about hand selection.

UTG or UTG+1 holding QJo or JTo. Is this a raise or fold. I have been raising the suited versions to keep my raising range wide open in my opponents mind. However, I have been folding these hands b/c I just cannot see myself raising with them.

ATo, AJo, KQo, KJo in the BB. Lets say there is one limper and the SB completes, are these raising hands? At the passive tables Im playing I have been raising these, only to see someone limp call the entire way with AQ/AK/KQs. However, I feel dumb checking these hands in the BB in a 3way pot.

Thanks for any help.

P.S.-had the best run of cards in my life today. Lost to set over set once and still made 91.5BB over a span of just 220 hands playing .25/.50 6max. Absolutely ridiculous run. Had quads twice in this span as well as AA twice and KK 3X. Damn it would be nice to run like this forever.

Here is one hand history from the run.

Hero is BB with 7d8h

UTG calls, 1 fold, CO calls, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks

Flop(5SB): 7s7h8s

SB chceks, Hero bets, UTG calls (all-in), CO calls, Button calls, SB folds

Turn(4.5BB): 9c

Hero bets, CO calls, Button calls

River(7.5BB): 7c
Hero bets, CO folds, Button raises, Hero 3bets, Button caps, Hero Calls

Final Pot:15.5BB

I've started raising QJo to isolate the BB on good tables. Especially since I saw these:

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 41.8396 % 40.64% 01.23% { random }
Hand 2: 58.1604 % 56.97% 01.23% { QJo }

If you get some serial cold callers, then I tend to fold this UTG. Which, at .25/.5, you get serial cold callers so I would fold it at your limit.

The other hands are pure raise for value, with an exception to KJo I raise them all. It actually all depends on who the limper and how tight the SB is. No way I'm value raising KJo if the limper was a TAG.

Jeff, can you point me in the right direction of that odds calculator. I think it would be helpful to see how a lot of hands play against two random cards. It would certainly help with blind steal when on the button.

Not that this has never been thought of before, but if you would raise all hands in a blind steal that are 45% or better against one random hand then it would be +EV. This is assuming the SB will fold and add dead money to the pot. Using this theory, the computer hand, Q7 (I think that is it) becomes a blind stealing hand. Not sure how correct my thinking is, but if you knew the SB and/or BB to be passive then this play would certainly work. I don't know guys, it's late and Im just thinking about poker. Got to go to work in 6 hours but I cannot stop playing, gotta keep the hot streak going...

Shit, at this rate I'll be at .5/1 in about 1/4 the time.

QJo has proven profitable for me to raise UTG, but depending on the table, I might fold it UTG or UTG+1. I don't open anywhere with JTo though.

I raise all those hands on the BB with a limper and a sb completing for value.
