B&M $4-$8.

Kill Pot ($8-$16).
Hero is KK in CO.

UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP3 calls, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: 2-3-9 suit not important
Hero bets, UTG+1 calls, MP3 calls

Turn: 2-3-9-A
Hero bets, UTG+1 raises (check raise), hero folds

Hero mucks K-K face up, UTG+1 shows 9-9 for set of nines.

dealer still deals river.

River: 2-3-9-A-K

i put UTG+1 on 2 pair (including the ace) or something very strong like straight. I didnt think he would check raise with anything weaker than that in a kill pot...not even AK). i thought i was drawing to 2 outs. so made the fold. should i have put the extra call since i already made a bet on the turn ??

Mucking face up is a poor play. It tells the table, Hey, I am a good player, Im not here to gamble, I pwn you all with my poker wizardry. This is the exact opposite of the image you wish to have, particually in a live cash game. Other than that, good fold, just muck them face down next time.

I said this out loud once.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

No your fold was absolutely correct. And tell the dealer that the river is for WSOP newbits and TV audiences, not players.
