A hand from earlier tonight, opponent is solid for the .25/.50 game, he has actually played back at me a few times.
6max 6 handed
Hero is BB
Dealt to hero KsTc
4 folds, SB raises, Hero 3bets, SB calls
Flop (6SB): KcKhTs
SB checks, Hero checks (?)
Turn (6SB): 9d
SB checks, Hero bets, SB folds
Next orbit (same player obv)
Hero is BB
Dealt to Hero JhTh
4 folds, SB raises, Hero 3bets, SB calls
Flop: AhQh8h
SB checks, Hero bets, SB folds
The big question here is when I flop the nuts (hand 1) and second nuts (hand 2) on boards like these how many streets do I allow villain to catch up? Both boards appear to hit villains raising range PF out of the SB. Hand 1 I was so far ahead I decided to check and hope he would lead at the turn. Hand 2 I decided to bet the flop hoping he would play back at me with an Ace. I guess in both hands he just had nothing, maybe a small PP each time. It was actually interesting sitting to his left b/c blind wars generally do not happen at this low of a level and it was fun to play a little bit of poker for once.

Do you usually bet the flop when you3-bet preflop? If so, you need to bet these. If there is a line you've been taking recently that looks like you are stealing/attacking weakness, use it. Waiting for the turn can be good if you have recently taken down some orphan pots with a LP turn bet after a checked through flop and turn. If you have shown down a good hand after checking behind on the flop recently, you must bet the flop. Basic, read/table-image play here. The correct answer is whatever you think will have the best chance of getting a bet out of a weak/marginal hand in the current situation. I've never seen this discussed, but I believe that letting your opponent catch up when HU in limit is somewhat futile. This is because only about 10% of the time will your opponent catch something on the turn, and the chances of calling the smaller flop bet combined with the chances he may have been planning a c/r mean more profit by betting the flop. When in doubt, bet the flop. Check behind only with a very good reason to expect to make more money that way.

Check usually is a sign of strength after a preflop raise. It also is a red flag that something 'fishy' is going on, you might get 1 bb if your lucky by doing this. Bet and if he has a hand he'll call you down.
