Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed)
was it an awful play ?? Ill post the results later.

I have been folding BB too much so called the extra bet with suited 1 gap. I thought no need to go crazy with this flop. i will be happy to just keep calling because there is no way the A of diamonds or even 10 of diamonds is folding and i am just sweetening the pot for them. the turn is scary.

Yes. You floped a $*&@ flush and a fourth diamond is gonna make you want to hurl. I would go crazy on the flop. Not raising the turn made me cry. Consider that if the board shows 2oak, trips or a 4 flush on the river your hand is at best a crying call.

In limit games it's hard to go too wrong putting in an extra bet with what figures to be the best hand.

It sounds like you are already conceding the pot after you flop a flush. This is YOUR pot, not theirs. Bet and raise like crazy - you probably have the best hand. You gotta raise the flop.

Once the board pairs up, I'm betting the turn and calling down to any resistance. I really don't like the river raise. Button went from a caller to a bettor. His hand improved, but you don't know how much.

Michael1123 said it in another thread - bet and raise with the best hand, call when you're not sure. In the play of this hand you were calling with the best hand and raising when you weren't sure.

When you flop the flush, another of that suit will probably not fall. Would you rather have the made flush or be the guy with the A waiting for the four flush to show?

Every time they call a bet you're making money. However, sometimes we wait for the turn because they're calling a bigger bet and more of it goes into our pocket. In this case your edge is too big to pass up a chance to jamm the flop.

...and if you bring up the chance someone flopped bigger or turned a boat my response is "say Nice Hand and pay it off." I don't care what the results are.

Thanks for the feedback Fnord and Lonnie. Yes, I realised now that I was playing with the wrong attitude. I already had the flush on the flop and there was no specific reason to fear a boat (preflop raiser couldve had AQ AK or AJ suited or whatever, even 10-10).

I missed a lot of bets on this hand. When a situation comes up in the future, i will keep this in mind. This is a classic case of when I have the best hand I am winning little and when I am making the second best hand paying others off (losing nutflush to full house).

MP1 had AK and Button raised when he made his straight with 7-10

I have a loooooooooong way to go but its going to be fun.
