OK here it goes, i was playing 4/8 last night 8 person table, im in position with AhQh, now to change it up here i thought why not smooth call, im not huge for raising preflop in limit but when i get good at it ill maybe adapt that into my strat. Anyways now I have AhQh with 4 people in the hand besides me, all limpers the flop comes QdQsAs. Well everyone checks and i have a moster so i chose to check and have give someone the chance to catch. The flop is a Kd im hopeing that someone will hit somthing now, but its checked to me agian, well what to do now, so i figured that ill check it and wait for someone to hit on the river, the river is a Js so all the outs and all the draws are on table. Finally someone makes a bet, two folds and i raise to 16$ the other guy to my left folds and the bettor calls, he turns over a GUTSHOT straight and i turn over the full house. Now this soon became a quick topic at the table. Everyone was like why the hell werent you betting, thats awsome for the rest of us, thanks for not makeing me pay. Well i looked at it like this: 4/8 your not going to get people with BS draws as much so even if someone had a king they would have bet it by now, but everyone checked, so i was thinking, if i would have bet on the flop everyone would have folded and i would have taken the pot or one caller so i made 4$ profit then he might have called one more but for sure wouldnt call the 4 card straight on the river so thats 12$ vs. 16$. I could have also bet the K on the turn, but then i would be betting 8$ for one caller who now had the gut shot who will then call the bet on the river to =16$ that i made on the river n e ways. So i was in the same boat as i was with the bet and the raise on river. So i figured i would rather risk someone hitting somthing on the river and try to bullie me around then to get 12$ or maybe 16$, What do you all think, i guess the table thought i made the wrong move any input?

I might check the flop in early position, but i'm betting in late position. There is NO way i'm checking out the turn.

In Limit holdem, you have few chances to really run up a pot. If you don't bet out, nobody can raise you. If you bet late position they might just think its a position bet and call.

Why wait till the river to start a bidding war?

Lets say you bet the turn, you get one callers. He checks the river, you bet he calls.
4 BB's

Lets say you check out the turn, nobody bets the river, you bet, 1 caller.
2 BB's.
Lets say you check the turn and are able to raise the river..
4 BB's

I think you were lucky the guy hit a 4 outter to give you some action.

i was very lucky that someone hit, i had never been in a situation with a flopped limit full house. So i was a little caught off guard when that happend, and the only thing i could come up with is to wait and hope someone catches somthing. I usually play no limit but i am likeing limit a lot more latley so i picked that up and im still working out the kinks. Thanks for the replay

I would bet on every street and raise if possible.

Live plays softer than online at a comperable limit.

Bet your hand. If that's giving away too much information then you're not betting enough.
