i just had to post this gem - a $30 pot in a .5/$1 game!

here's a question for the stud players. you're dealt a hand like A3A, come out raising, and end up with 3-4 callers. based on the visible cards, and the way people are betting, you're putting people on two pair through the streets. my question is, you've got the aces, how far do you go trying to hit two pair? at what street should fold if you're putting others on two pair and you've only got the rockets?

I would bet/raise/re-raise the A3A to 4th street, bet 5th street, and check 6th unless I 2paired. Without a 2-pair, I would consider folding on 6th with any bet. Any re-raise I wasnt doing, I would fold on 5-7th street in multi-way (maybe I would stay in on 5th).

People should know you have ace pair by the way your are betting (especially the bet/raise/re-raise on 3rd street from you). Even if they catch 2-pair on 5th, they will have to think you might have higher 2pair and play cautiously. So any push back on 5th street should be taken seriously. If noone is raising you to the river (and you caught 2-pair), I would think ace 2-pair should win ok with 3-4 ppl in. Although, I would definately prefer HtoH or 3-way pots to the river...
