One hand from B&M yesterday. Seems like I lost my balls out in the woods somewhere .

First hand at the table. No reads on players involved in the hand (3 known players who drop out on flop).

2-4$

I get Ks Kd in MP2.

UTG calls, UTG+1 calls,MP1 calls, Hero raises, MP3 calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: 5d - 6d - 9d

UTG bets,UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, Button calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: 5d - 6d - 9d - 7d

Everyone checks, Button bets, UTG calls, Hero calls

River: 5d - 6d - 9d - 7d - Ah

Everyone checks, Button bets, UTG calls, Hero calls

Button has Jd-x, UTG (dont remember). Hero wins 15 BB.

Question: Do I bet out the turn or check raise the turn or play like i did. I am only behind someone with Ad or someone with 8d and should I take a chance to extract 2 more big bets on turn hoping no one has those cards ?. What were the odds.

I was definitely going to showdown even with a raise (but not with a raise and a reraise). Should I have made them pay more for playing crap or was it correct play ?

I would bet or check-raise the turn.

Call down if 3-bet on turn.
Bet/raise the river if only called on the turn.

You asked 'what are the odds?'

Roughly, it's about 35% with 4 seeing the flop that someone has either the Ad or 8d. This is giving a somewhat higher probability to the Ad because many will play any A. Could be as high as 40% you are beat (I didn't calculate exactly, but know it is in the 35-40 range). So, unless someone is crazy aggro both turn and river, I'm raising as long as not heads up. Since the button is the aggressor here, you probably jsut have to check call due to position. If you had position, it would be call/bet or possibly raise if 3 or more still in the hand.

As a follow up to my last post, you probably should raise the turn. With no reads, the odds say you are a favorite.

Bet the turn. If you have the lead, don't give it up to a scare card, especially a scare card that gives you the best hand.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.
