!Luck is on a distinguished road
I recently bought SSH. And I have been trying to play by it as much as I can, I been using the tight preflop strategy more often then not. For some reason I just can't find too many tables with more than 5 limpers consistently. Anyways on to the hands. Thank you in advance for your help.

I am just not sure when I should be aggressive and sometimes by attempt at a check raises looks incredibly passive. And after my check raise fails I feel like I can't catch up, if you know what I mean?

This is what I would have done with these hands. Right or wrong, but I'll add to the discussion. Hard to tell if I'm being swayed though after seeing the results.

#1 - I would've raised after the flop. Then if raised, I would've probably check/called to the end.

#2 - I would've raised first in. Not sure what I'd do after that. Hard to play this UTG.

#3 - I probably would've folded to the turn bet.

#4 - Don't know, probably would've folded on the river like you did.

#5 - I would've probably limped in, then just called the flop to see the turn.

#6 - I think I would've done the same thing. If anyone bet along the way, I would've folded.

#7 - That was real nice, especially the raise after the flop. I would've called and UTG+1 might have paired his AK or whatever he had. Good play.

#8 - I think I would've bet after the flop.

#9 - I think I would've played the same way.

I don't think at the Party .5/1.00 limit where I play sometimes too, that people respect a check/raise at all. I'm interested to see what other people have to say. I think you're more aggressive than I would be in some spots, and vice-versa. I've learned that position sure is a big deal the more you play.

Hand 1:
You should have bet on the flop
But either way you were behind to a flopped 2 pair, so this would probably a hard read for the lay down

Hand 2:
Fold on the flop to a bet
Some might say that you should not play AJo UTG

Hand 3:
Bet on the Flop
fold to the re-raise on the Turn

Hand 4:
good fold on the river

Hand 5:
well played

Hand 6:
bet on the flop, that is a good flop for you. by checking you are letting them get free cards

Hand 7:
well played, nice check-raise

Hand 8:
I would have bet on the flop, you were the aggressor pre-flop and then you gave them a free-card

Hand 9:
well played

hand 1:
bet out on the flop, respect turn raises.

hand 2:
well played.

hand 3:
you should bet the flop for at least some information. otherwise no reason to raise the turn, just fold.

hand 4:
well played.

hand 5:
well played.

hand 6:
if someone bets the river you should smell a bluff and call it down (if you close the action).

hand 7:
well played.

hand 8:
bet the flop, bet/raise the turn, bet the river (call a raise)

hand 9:
well played.

---------

if a check raise fails you can usually dump it on the turn because the pot will be small anyways

terrible fold. he's getting 17:1 to call that flop bet with no fear of a raise behind him.

Don't try to Check raise these guys, they won't slow down or even notice

Just bet your hands. Tight ABC Poker will destory the .5/1 game on party..

Save the fancy plays for people who will notice.

I think one of my mistakes I try to check raise when I was the preflop aggressor and I don’t have enough opponents behind me. Yeah I think I need to respect turn raises more, but I was very confused because he slowed down quite a bit (the aj vs. 84). Though he might have been bad and I had a better kicker.

second set:

hand 1:
well played

hand 2:
bet out on the flop. again, respect a turn raise, they could have a 9. call it down from here.

hand 3:
i'm not sure if implied odds warrant that flop call...you're about 50/50 to drawing to 6 outs or 3.

I agree with Hypermegachi on sets 2 & 3 except for the AQs hand. You can't give up initiative by checking the flop when you miss. Bet out. Your naked Ace might be good and the bet is trival vs the size of the pot.

TAggs throw around bets to hide information and because we often have the best hand or are drawing live.

Why you almost always should bet unimproved overcards on the flop after a PFR...

CO is 5% PFR over around 200 hands, VP$IP is tight too.
UTG is paying my mortgage.

Turn: (3.66 BB) 5 (3 players)
UTG checks, CO checks, Fnord checks.

River: (3.66 BB) 3 (3 players)

Final Pot: 3.66 BB

what's your standard line of play if you get raised? fold on the flop, or fold on an unimproved turn?

Hand 2: Raise pre-flop, bet the flop.

I am very confused by this, do you mean i should raise ajo UTG or should i 3 bet. On another note i think i go for a check raise on the flop too often or just in the wrong situations.

#1: Do I need to slow down?
#2: Should I value bet the river
#3: Should I value bet the river (I had a feeling that he had an 8)
#4: Had no clue what to do
#5: To passive?
#6: Crying calls or just horrible calls?
#7: No clue once again, I saw weakness and attacked, i would have slowed down if i didn't pick up the gut shot straight draw on the turn

fourth set:

hand 1:
don't 3bet, that's too aggressive. they could have JJ, QQ, KK which all pwn you. the turn and on is trivial.

hand 2:
bet the river.

hand 3:
bet the river.

hand 4:
i like that. taking the free card is ok too, but i like what you did better.

hand 5:
the flop cap is telling you he has a very strong hand. call it down from here.

hand 6:
i would just call the flop bet. there isn't enough people in the hand to push your flush drawing equity. fold the river. the only non pocket pair worthy of a 3bet preflop is AK or AQ, which both have you dominated.

hand 7:
well played. from the looks of the hand i think at least one person had a 8.

First set

Hand 1: With one limper and a poster in CO, I'd raise preflop to try to get heads up. Going for a check-raise on the flop is suspect, because only MP2 voluntarily put any money in preflop.
Hand 2: Raise or fold preflop. AJo is easier to play against 2 opponents than 5.
Hand 5: Are you trying for a free (cheap) card with the flop raise? I don't mind it too much if so because of your backdoor flush draw.
Hand 6: Fold preflop.
