I've been playing O8 a bit more seriously the past few weeks and have been slowly going through the learning curve. Some thoughts I had so far on favorite hands:
1) Obviously A2sA3s-nut low with counterfeit protection, 2 nut flush draws, Top Set, Possible Top Boat/Quads?, and possible straight flush draw. The A3s allows for a possible 6 high flush and possible 3/4 pot/scoop potential.I also find I have been getting better at relasing a naked low draw with no high backup/or making sure I don't chase runner runner low/overplay low when facing heat.
2) Any combination of 10 point cards (eg Tens or higher) esp double suited/connected such as AKsJTs or AKsQJs etc......easy to release on a low card flop and possible 1/2 of a big pot if 2 or more villains get into a raising war on the turn/river with a naked low and no high. Not often you get quartered with Broadway; and when you do make your flush you're taking half for sure (with hopefully 2/3 low drawers pumping the pot/calling your well timed raise).
3) Any combo of an Ace with 2 prime cards; with the 4th card a Ten Point card or better such as A3sK5s or AQs45s etc.....good chance for a high straight or flush and possible low if someone gets counterfeited when a 2 turns/rivers or better yet you make the low cause the 2 and 3 hits and you back into a straight.
Thoughts?

Surely A high flush.
I like hands with 67 in (provided they have good low cards too). If I can see a cheap flop with A267 and i manage to make the straight I take a nice chunk out of A2xx

Interesting; in the past I leaned towards playing Axxx hands with mid cards (i.e. 6 to 9) unless I had the A2 or the 2 cards besides the Ace were 5 or lower........I know A278 and A289 are def marginal at best but A267 for cheap sounds like a plan.....

aye, I see the logic but think it has to be exactly 67. The shot at seven low makes up for the relative lack of babies.

Don't you mean the Seven high straight? Say the flop comes
345 rainbow
and the turn is
8
presuming the river bricks I see hero def 3/4 the pot or even scooping.

KKxx where xx is either two hi cards (T+) or has some other nice properties like double suited or single suited and a high card or A2/A3/23.
I like the KKxx when the K and another 9+ card hits
