Hi Friend is on a distinguished road
I found this page:
www. flopturnriver.com/Holdem-Expected-Value-4-Players.php
... and I don't understand why it makes a difference what position one is in.

could someone explain that to me please?

It's all about information.

If you are first to act, you don't know how the people are going to act behind you, so it makes your marginal holdings much harder to play.

If you're last to act, you know everything you need to know, so it makes marginal holdings and draws much easier to play

It's easier to bluff in position, it's easier to pump draws in position, it's easier to play passively in position, it's easier to fold in position.

Furthermore, you should only be playing premium hands from Out of Position (oop). Because when you get into a pot OOP, if you have a poor to marginal holding, you wasted the money you put into the pot when you're forced to fold to a raise/re-raise scenario.

It's the most important part of the game. Re-read it and simply accept what your'e reading. Because it's true.
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

Well put. But to simplify a bit:

It's because AA will be more profitable from the button than from UTG... For all the reasons ragnar posted.
<Staxalax> Honestly, #flopturnriver is the one thing that has improved my game the most.

Check out the new limit ev charts we made: http://www.flopturnriver.com/poker-c...oker-chart.gif

As euphoricism said, it shows that AA is more profitable from the button than from utg.

Also check out the Texas Holdem Expected Value(EV) Poker EV Chart page, it has links to all the hand charts/graphs and it can be sorted based on the number of seats (2, 6, 9).

We might be adding another table with sorting by position soon (sort hands by btn ev versus utg ev).

Should UTG and UTG+1 be flip-flopped or am I missing something?

I think kmind is saying that the order of the seats on the side is confusing.

Yep sorry about that! You were saying that it went like UTG +1 and THEN UTG as opposed to having UTG first and UTG +1 second.

The utg+1 line was too confusing so we took it out.
