I'm almost positive he's playing his position here, so I checkraise because I want to know what the rest of the field does -- if someone calls two cold, I can be pretty confident that they've got some sort of hand (and probably trips).
Well, that worked ... but then I was at a bit of a loss. Villain is a 72/14 and can literally have any two cards here... and I just want to get to showdown as cheaply as possible. Thoughts on turn play?

On the turn, usually, I bet and fold to a raise. It really depends on the opponent here though. I can see bet/fold, bet/3-bet, check/fold, check/raise all having their merits depending on opponent. But regardless of what you choose, I think the turn needs to either be checked/folded or played aggressively. No calling here.

I like a bet/fold line here for the turn and river unless villian has an AF of over 2, maybe checkfold if an ace hits. Nice flop play.

In truth I did check the turn, he checked behind. I hit my 6 on the river and he folded.

If you don't think he can bet the flop with air, you shouldn't be c/r'ing.

Exactly. So bet the turn.
The flop c/r, turn check is inconsistent.

Must bet this turn to show follow-through on acts of aggression.

yup, there's no quicker way to start having weak opponents bluff at you because you didn't follow through with your aggression.
Even bad players will see that you're preflop and flop aggression isn't scary if you don't continue it.
